User questions & answers
Question: | What is the signal to noise ratio |
Answer: | I'm not sure what the exact ratio is, but this turntable (at least mine) is NOT silent, in terms of mechanical noise. I can hear the motor running while standing in front of it, but I cannot hear it when I am sitting on the cough approx. 9 feet away. I have an old Acoustic Research XB, which is also a belt drive, that runs DEAD silent. If it weren't for the sound of the motor running, I'd like this table a lot more. |
Question: | what cartridge is included |
Answer: | Thanks very much for your question. This table comes with a moving-magnet Denon cartridge premounted to the headshell. The stylus used in this cartridge is DSN-85. World Wide Stereo is 38 years old and a proud, authorized Denon dealer. |
Question: | Can the usb out be used to go to a computer for the purpose of ripping to a hard drive? thanks |
Answer: | Yes, the USB can be used in computer. |
Question: | Can you by-pass the pre-amp |
Answer: | You do not have to use the built in preamp, there is an on/off button on the back of the turn table. If you turn the preamp off, you can plug the turn table into the actual PHONO stage of your integrated amp or receiver. This is how I am using it. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can I connect the device to a 220v power supply? Is there a transformer inside the turn table |
Answer: | Hey Ariel, All Denon units sold in North America are only 110/120V models. All 220V and 240V units are sold for other regions like Denon Europe and Denon Asia Pacific. Thanks, Denon North America |
Question: | Can it be hooked to a computer for audio downloads |
Answer: | Not by USB. You can run a line from the turntable to a mic jack on a computer running something like Audacity, tho. |
Question: | We connected this directly to powered speakers, which should work, but the sound is distorted if we crank it (works for digital music). Any tips |
Answer: | There is a phono preamp switch under the platter that may need to be switched off. The powered speakers may have an input labeled "phono" which already has a preamp. You can either run it to a line input on the speakers with the phono switch on the turntable turned on or you can turn it off and run it with the phono preamp on the speakers. Only use 1 preamp! By running through 2 you are overloading the signal. |
Question: | In what colors is this unit available |
Answer: | Richard, This comes in Black only.Eric C |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the Signal-to-Noise Ratio |
Answer: | From 120.com In theory, a 50 dB turntable would be noisier than a 60 dB and way noisier than a 70 dB turntable. The question is whether an average listener would really notice it. That's because once you start dealing with S/N ratios of about 60 dB, you probably won't notice much of a difference as the S/N improves above that. Even at 50 dB, the amount of noise is quite small. To get 2 dB of noise, you'd have to have 100 dB of music. Most people cannot hear 2 dB, and definitely not when there's loud music playing. There will be more noise from other sources that you would hear first. 50 dB is a good enough S/N ratio for the average listener. And 60 dB or above is very good. Higher end turntables should be within the 50-80 dB range but again its pointless with the music blasting at 100dB or higher. Beyond that, it's more important to have a low degree of wow & flutter. |
Question: | The counterweight just slides on/off. Doesn't appear to screw on so to speak. Defective part or am I missing something |
Answer: | Denon DJ support here! The counterweight should screw on. If this isn't happening, we'd love to look into this for you. Please feel free to call or email us using the contact information on denondj.com/support. |

Audio-Technical has been a leader in phonon cartridge design for more than 50 years, and that expertise shows in the AT-LP60X’s Dual Magnet cartridge with replaceable stylus. The cartridge is integrated into the head shell for assured performance and ease of setup. The turntable comes with a detachable RCA output cable (3. 5 mm male to dual RCA male), 45 RPM adapter, and a removable hinged dust cover. It is available in black (AT-LP60X-BK), brown/black (AT-LP60X-BW), gunmetal/black (AT-LP60X-GM), and red/black (AT-LP60X-RD).

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this turntable need speakers to play the record |
Answer: | Yes. Needs an amp and speakers. |
Question: | What are the differences between this at-lp60x and the regular at-lp60? this one https://www.amazon.com/audio-technica-at-lp60-automatic-belt-drive-tu |
Answer: | Lp60x is the newer model.. there are some aesthetic changes, DC conversation happens in the plug now, the o/p is a 3.5mm aux jack with a aux to rca cable(instead od the other way around in 60) that's what I found when I was researching on it. There might be some internal changes too |
Question: | Do you needle for this product |
Answer: | The need comes with the product. I bought this as a gift for my mother. |
Question: | What does ‘fully automatic’ mean exactly |
Answer: | A fully automatic turntable will queue and play the record itself with the push of one button as well as return the tonearm on it's own once the record is finished playing. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this sit comfortably on a 15" deep shelf |
Answer: | Sorry I did not read your question until now. It measures 16.5 inches end to end. The 12 inch description is probably referring to the grabbable length. |
Question: | Can you close the lid while playing records |
Answer: | The Bathtub rail can be used on fiberglass tubs. Use caution and do not over-tighten to prevent possible damage to the tub. PLEASE NOTE: This bathtub rail is designed to assist with balance and stability when entering and exiting the bathtub. It is NOT designed for full body weight lifting. |
Question: | Can you buy an attachment that allows you to stack more records to automatically drop and play |
Answer: | Thank you for your question. The clamp in order to be secured properly needs to sit on a flat surface. So I'd image the track from the sliding door would be an issue. In addition you'd be limited in using the door itself. |
Question: | Can I use my headphones instead of speakers |
Answer: | It's adjustable...no "cutting" needed. Made of steel. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this turntable have built in speakers, or must you have external speakers? could i play it through an ultimate ears boom 3 bluetooth speaker |
Answer: | For better sound, external speakers are recommended.I bought 2 speakers last month, the sound quality I think is really good , clear and smooth .you can get my speakershere:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XTDNGZW?ref=myi_title_dp |
Question: | What’s the difference lp60xbt-bk and the lp60bk-bt |
Answer: | The "X" line is the newest line of Audio-Technica turntables. The LP60X is an update of the popular AT-LP60, the ATLP60X features a redesigned tonearm base and headshell to improve tracking and reduce resonance. Noise is further reduced by the inclusion of an AC adapter that moves the AC/DC conversion outside of the chassis where its impact on the signal chain is limited. |
Question: | Weight of needle on record? One oz or does it kill records |
Answer: | I don't know the weight of the needle, but this record player killed my 3 records, rubbish |
Question: | Does the arm/needle damage the vinyls in such a way as the cheap $50 briefcase style vinyls players? Can I upgrade if need be |
Answer: | All turntables degrade the performance of vinyl media. The better the counterbalance of the weight of the tonearm, the slower the degradation. The direct contact between the stylus and the grooves in the disk is abrasive. A heavy tonearm is like 100 grit sandpaper and a light tonearm is like 600 grit. I transfer all my LPs to tape and CD. Most of my LPs have only been played two or three times in decades. Limited use and proper storage keeps my collection pristine. |

User questions & answers
Question: | will arm return at end of album |
Answer: | no |
Question: | Do I need speakers for this item |
Answer: | You will need speakers and an amplifier or receiver. |
Question: | is this fully analog or does it convert to digital |
Answer: | Fully analog. |
Question: | What are the differences between this and the LP120X |
Answer: | The main differences are the MDF 40WN vs plastic plinth 120x, belt drive 40WN vs direct drive 120x, and the carbon fiber upgraded tone arm of the 40WN vs a low end tone arm 120x. Also theres no mention of there being a speed monitoring system for the motor of the 120x. The 120x has a plinth mounted led and a USB output that the 40WN doesn't if that's important. To sum it all up if your aim is to listen to records casually, you dont really care about the hifi, and you have no interest in upgrading the stylus cartridge then the 120x isnt a bad choice. Yes the 120x has the VM cartridges just the same as the 40WN but the tone arm of the 120x would need to be upgraded to really benefit from the change of the cartridge. Also you run into the possible motor vibration issues of direct drive that can affect the sound vs a usually preferred belt drive which isolates the turntable from the motor vibration. My opinion is to spend the extra $ and get the better turntable, the 40WN is much better looking to my taste as well. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I see it comes with a good stylus. Can it be upgraded to higher end such as ortofon or a higher end AT |
Answer: | You can upgrade the stylus on the AT95E cartridge to an AT95SE, AT95VL, or a AT95SA with the AT95SA being the best stylus with a diamond tip measuring .0002 x .0029 in. Or, should you prefer, purchase an entirely new phono cartridge. |
Question: | Does the "auto-stop" stop the platter from spinning and shut off the turntable |
Answer: | Hello Jazz, thank you for your inquiry. The turntable has a switch to engage or disengage the auto-stop once the needle reached the end of the record. Once playback on a side is complete, the platter will spin for a few rotations before stopping. This tone arm however, does not have an auto-return feature. Please visit our site and refer to the user manual which provides a full detail on the auto-stop feature. If you do have any additional technical inquiries, we do recommend that you contact us directly from our website, where you will have both Live Chat and completion of the online contact form for options. |
Question: | It's not clear from the description, so I will ask: does it play all three speeds |
Answer: | Hello LW_NM, thank you or your inquiry. This unit plays in both 33 1/3 and 45 rpm. For reference, this information can be found in the first paragraph under Product Description on the listing page. |
Question: | Can the built-in pre amp be bypassed |
Answer: | Yes, there is a switch on the back of the unit. |
