Answer:	I have used both Audiicity and WavePad by NCH software. Both are free downloads, WavePad has somwhat better documentation/Help and can be upgraded to some pretty serious sofware.

Answer:	Windows controls whether you get mono (in "both" channels) or stereo. With the deck connected via USB, open Control Panel, Sound, pick your input, and set Windows to use 44.1kHz sampling 16-bit 2 channels. (USB defaults to 1 channel, but this is where you change it.)

Answer:	I'm not sure because I haven't used that dubbing feature yet!

Answer:	It just has a headphone jack (1/4 inch, or if you have an adapter, smaller size). I don't see a microphone input. You can record from CD or radio.

Answer:	No. It's a very basic deck.
Question:	What are the size dimensions of this unit, width-length-depth
Answer:	I had to pull it out of the donations for Salvation Army box and then open to measure. It's length 16.5" X width 8.5" X height 5". I think it worked for a month or at the most 3 and then it just died. It no longer powers up and I'm no electrician. Such a waste of money. I'm thinking of it as an expensive rental.

Answer:	Yes you can if you have (or can locate) an outboard Dolby encoder (I'm assuming by "noise reduction" you mean Dolby B, or possibly C). You would have to find a used encoder as they haven't been manufactured for many years. The W-1200 (for this purpose) has Dolby calibration markings on its VU meters.
Question:	I received my cassette player and installed two batteries. It runs the tapes very fast. Is there a way to slow down the tape speed
Answer:	The device functions as I expected. I specifically bought this so I can play back all my old cassette tapes that I accumulated when I was in my teens. When CDs and audio file formats like mp3, wma became more popular, these tapes were relegated to the archives. Playing them back on this cassette deck brings back old good memories. However; one of my wishes though was to have an auto-reverse functionality on the decks. It would be nicer and more effortless if the tapes will switch to side B automatically without me intervening to do it. There were times that the sound was muffled and unclear but it can be attributed to my old cassette tapes rather than this player itself.

Answer:	Pressing the "REC" button will result in a new file (closing the previous one). I find it easier to just record the whole cassette in one pass and use Audigy to extract the individual tracks. This also lets me enter the meta data for each track.
