About the Founder
In 1966, Bob Gault founded what was to become the world’s largest loudspeaker manufacturing company after working as an engineer for Magnavox and CTS (Chicago Telephone Supply). Ironically, Gault started Eminence hoping to maintain three 18" speakers per day, based on a commitment from Ampeg’s Everett Hull. Under the leadership of Gault and most recently his son, Rob, the company’s capacity grew to over 10,000 speakers per day, employing over 240 people by 1997.
Gault was the president of Eminence from the company’s inception until 1992. He officially retired in 1993, but continued to make valuable contributions to the company. Gault passed away on October 4, 2002. He is greatly missed by his family, the music industry, and the Eminence community.

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this work on Mackie swa1501 sub |
Answer: | The is a positive and negative on both sides. The white dots are the main input coils. Sounds like you should really let a professional hook those up for you so you don't damage your woofers or your amp. |
Question: | Do these work better in ported or unported box |
Answer: | Sorry it took so long to Answer your question, yes it will they are a good amp but they do happen to get hot and shut off after playing it for a bit, I'm running a Fosgate 500 the small prime amp it puts out a max 630 watt and it never have shut off at all, if you do want to run the Hifonic I would run 2 kickers so you get all the power out of the amp and splitting the 1800 watts so you don't over work just 1 kicker. |
Question: | Will this speaker work for the yamaha sw218v |
Answer: | 8 gauge wiring kit a ken wood amp 1500 watts mono block |
Question: | Is it possible to get these in 16 ohms? if not, is there an eminence 15" sub speaker that does come in a 16 ohm configuration |
Answer: | They are 400 rms and 800 max |
Question: | recommended enclosure for this sub? regards |
Answer: | Thank you for your question. A 600 watt RMS at 2 ohms amplifier will be perfect for that enclosure. The Kicker CXA600.1 or you could step up to the KXA800.1, which would be a great future proof amp where you can upgrade subs in the future without changing amps. Happy to help! - Creative Audio |
Question: | How much rms is this speaker |
Answer: | Both subwoofers are wired to a single terminal on the enclosure, giving you a single 2 ohm load. I would assume from this that the subs inside must therefore be 4ohm SVC, although that information is not relevant as the subs are wired together. |
Question: | I bought 4 kappa pro 12 & 4 eminence asd1001b 1" hf horn driver what two way board crossover should i use |
Answer: | Either one will do but with the 2 channel as long as it has a low pass fliter u will be just fine |
Question: | The little metals clips that are on each terminal, those are supposed to be removed, yes |
Answer: | Am using a 1200 amp iphoniex and it's kicking |
Question: | I have some 18 Sound 15's but want to know if these play mid-bass better than the 18 sounds |
Answer: | comes with 2 |
Question: | My Yorkville Bloc 150B is a 4ohm 150w bass combo with a 15" subwoofer. Is this speaker overkill or can the amps handle it |
Answer: | Si. No las va a cargar en el lomo . Las va a cargar la camioneta |
Question: | Can this speaker go to 4ohms |
Answer: | yes, it comes with 2 subs. But they are rent 1000w each they are 2 subs that are 500w each. |
Question: | What is the sensitivity rating of these |
Answer: | Yes but it’ll take up quite a bit of room, mines in a subaru wrx hatch an it takes up the entire trunk space. |
Question: | Are these better than the imperio |
Answer: | It’s in the back of my 04 Toyota Highlander, idk how big a neon is. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are these the best match for my situation? I have three way sealed tower speakers with passive radiators and I want to replace the 12 inch drivers |
Answer: | I wouldn't use them in that application. They're more suitable for a guitar or bass amp. |
Question: | Got my Beta 15A speakers but there's no polarity indicated on the hookup tabs. Can you advise |
Answer: | I've since sold that amp but I would recommend you look up some closeup installation photos online to determine the hot (positive) lug. |
Question: | I've tried these speakers through combo bass amp I intended and through a separate head, and they always buzz like crazy. Are these really for bass |
Answer: | These are officially a loudspeaker, ideally for PA reinforcement. I have managed to get a good sound from them for bass, though there is a lot that goes into choosing specific speakers for your specific cab. Putting two of these in a guitar 2x12 cab will most likely not produce an incredible bass sound. |
Question: | are the betas louder than the alphas |
Answer: | YES |
