Answer:	20-100 watts RMS
Question:	what is the difference between the 6.5 inch vs the 8 inch versions
Answer:	The tweeters are exactly the same between the two. The 8" model has a larger woofer and therefore will provide better bass reproduction (i.e., deeper low end bass). The reason for the different sizes is sometimes the spacing distances between the ceiling joist and wall studs will dictate which one you can use . If your wall studs or ceiling joist are on 16" centers then get the 8"... if they are on 12" centers you'll have to settle for the 6.5". Hands down... if you have the room get the 8". Just FYI: The 8" version outsells the 6" version 2 to 1.
Question:	How much sound is transferred to the room above? I'm installing in a basement ceiling below a bedroom
Answer:	Depends on the construction of the house. I would Place a bat of fiberglass insulation behind the speaker if there is no insulation in the ceiling. This will reduce the transmission of sound upstairs , and improve the sound of the speaker in the room it's installed.
Question:	Do these speakers have open backs? Do they come with enclosures
Answer:	This is actually a great question. As the others have said, the backs are open, which is typically not an issue when installing into a wall or ceiling. HOWEVER...if you install into a ceiling that has blown insulation above it (the loose cellulose kind, not the rolled fiberglass kind) then you WILL want to come up with your own way of keeping the loose insulation off the backs of the speaker. If you don't (as I didn't the first time I bought these) then over time the quality and volume of the sound will lessen because of the insulation working into and pressing against the cones. I had to replace one set because of this problem.

Question:	can I paint it with my wall color
Answer:	This is a good question to ask Polk direct. When you receive this system out of the box, It's already program from the factory to react within it'self. In the instruction that comes with the system it does mention these codes can be change. Be safe and ask the pro's who design the system.

Answer:	I would think so, go to the Polk website and contact them.
Question:	Do you need a subwoofer for these speakers? Or do they sound ok without it
Answer:	After struggling and struggling with this same feature (I live in a college town. The college kids were using the unsecured hotspot created by the magnifi to make wifi telephone calls, thus blocking my phone and using up all my router bandwidth ) I found a solution. I unplugged the magnifi, put it in a box, and threw it in the town dump. I then went out and bought a new sound bar that cost 1/2 as much as the Polk that could only be updated when I specifically wanted to update it. I found this to be the perfect solution to a problem the polk WILL NOT fix, WILL NOT assist the customer when asked for help either thru their customer support or their technical support. Now I go around telling anyone who will listen the absolute truth about the lack of support I got from polk. You can do this also.

Answer:	The unit itself has an overall width of 14 1/2". The door is the same width, so when the door is open flush against the wall, the total span of space used is 29". However, the door does not have to open flush against the wall for the ironing board to be used. The door just needs to be able to open past the front of the unit, allowing the board to come down flat.

Answer:	Yes that is correct. I used some scrap 3 conductor cable, 14-3 I think, for this run. Much easier running 1 cable as apposed to 2 speaker wires.

Answer:	Because it is the like having 2 speakers in one. Hook one pair to the right channel and one pair to the left channel.

Answer:	I use 3's as rear speakers in my very large living room with high vaulted ceiling. But I have two pairs of 1's that I use as stereo speakers in my bedroom and workshop. In most rooms, 1's would work just fine as surround speakers in a 5.1 system. 3's have a little more oomph than 1's, but you probably won't be unhappy with either.
Question:	Has anyone compared a stereo pair of Play:1s with a single Play:5? Which option provides better sound for a large room
Answer:	The Play5 has more fidelity than S1, sound is fuller. However with the pair of S1's you will get better stereo separation since you can place them further apart. The S1 sounds better than the Play3. I own them all, so speaking from first hand experience.
Question:	How does this speaker compares to the Bose Sounlink Mini
Answer:	One point to any first-time Sonos buyers: a very big difference from the Bose Soundlink Mini is that the Sonos does NOT connect to an Echo Dot like the Bose (or any bluetooth speaker) - you only control music. If you are expecting to hear your Flash Briefing or anything else besides music out of the Sonos, you will be very disappointed. Also, for what it's worth, in my opinion, at a reasonable room-filling volume I thought the sound quality was similar.
Question:	I want a bookshelf system for a large living/kitchen/dining room with enough volume for a party of 40-50 guests. Should I get 2 Play:1s or 2 Play:3s
Answer:	If you can swing 2 Play:3s, that would be what to get. The sound is much better. Play:1 sounds great for what it is. But size and quantity matters. And whoever says that 2 Play:3s cannot be paired in stereo is completely wrong. And it depends on what kind of party this is. Is this for quiet ambience? Or is this a fun thumping party? That should help with which speakers to get. Even the Play:3 is kind of dicey for a loud thumping party.
