14 best bic floor standing speakers
Bic is not particularly known for floor-standing speakers in the realm of home audio electronics. However, there are other reputable brands and manufacturers that specialize in speakers, including floor-standing models.
Floor-standing speakers, also known as tower speakers, are large, free-standing speakers designed to deliver high-quality audio performance, typically for home entertainment systems. They are characterized by their tall, vertical design, which allows for multiple drivers (woofers, midrange, and tweeters) to be integrated, providing a wide frequency range and enhanced sound quality.
Here are some general characteristics and considerations for floor-standing speakers:
Sound Quality: Floor-standing speakers are known for their excellent sound reproduction capabilities. They can produce deep bass, clear midrange, and crisp high frequencies, providing a balanced and immersive listening experience.
Speaker Drivers: They often feature multiple drivers, including woofers for bass, midrange drivers for vocals and instruments, and tweeters for high frequencies. This driver configuration allows for a wider frequency response.
Power Handling: Floor-standing speakers are typically capable of handling higher power levels, making them suitable for larger rooms or environments where high volume levels are desired.
Room Placement: Due to their size and design, floor-standing speakers require adequate floor space. They are best suited for larger rooms where they can be positioned optimally for sound dispersion.
Aesthetic Considerations: Floor-standing speakers can be a prominent feature in a room's decor. Many manufacturers offer various finishes and styles to match different home aesthetics.
Home Theater Integration: Floor-standing speakers can serve as the main front speakers in a home theater setup. They can be paired with center channel speakers, surround speakers, and subwoofers for a complete surround sound experience.
Brand Consideration: While Bic may not be a prominent brand in the floor-standing speaker market, there are other well-known manufacturers such as Klipsch, Polk Audio, Sony, Bose, and many more, each with their own unique offerings.
When considering floor-standing speakers, it's important to assess your specific audio needs, room size, budget, and personal preferences. Additionally, reading reviews and seeking recommendations from audio enthusiasts can help you make an informed decision.

User questions & answers
Question: | what is the oz weight of the woofer and what size voice coil does it have as well |
Answer: | I am unable to answer this question but I can tell you that I am quite pleased with these speakers. They are loud, they are clear, and I am one who likes his music from zero to 2 and 3db and these speakers go and stay right there with a 525w Yamaha surround sound amp pushing them all the way. Great deal. |
Question: | What is the actual size of the cabinet? In inches and foot!! Please |
Answer: | 39"Hight x 17"Width X11"Depth |
Question: | I was wondering if I can buy a pa speaker cabinet with 2 15inch woofers in it and hook to my home receiver/amp and get good bass and sound for music |
Answer: | You can yes depending on what your definition of good sound is, obviously buy your question I'd I would say bass is your primary concern correct? Make sure the ohm of the speakers you purchase match your receiver/amp, if you put 4 ohm speakers on a 8 ohm amp you could fry the amp. PA speakers by their design are for sustained increased volume levels which does not always equate to higher quality sound. |
Question: | I'm amplifying a Yamaha Clavinova Keyboard and assume these speakers will work. Are they better than the Sony SB |
Answer: | I love these speakers I admit at first for like a week i thought they sounded awful. They were just new. Now broken in they sound amazing. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I'm probably going to go with a diy isolation base, but would the svs soundpath feet work on this speaker |
Answer: | Yes, but not really needed. |
Question: | what gauge wire do you recommend |
Answer: | 14 gauge is perfect if you're using bare wire to the speaker posts. You cam use 12 or 10 but I would recommend putting banana plugs on the end of those. I wouldn't recommend wire under 14 awg |
Question: | Are these speakers bi-wired |
Answer: | These are the typical wiring connection for speakers, black and red terminal. These speakers are ok at best, more for looks I would have to say. Provides little to no bass and has 4 subwoofers per speakers, 2 passive and 2 active. I have 2 of their pl 200 subwoofers so I didn't really care about the lack of bass, horns and tweeters are decent for the money. As good as klipsch I would say. |
Question: | Mine arrived with many holes in the bottom - are there supposed to be legs or little feet on the bottom |
Answer: | Those might be from screwing the black base onto the bottom of the wood cabinet? I just used some of the foam it came packaged inas a base to isolate the speaker from the floor (I have bare wood floor) and hot glued some black fabric over the foam. |

Main Features Manufacturer: BIC Manufacturer Part Number: DV-64 Manufacturer Website Address: www.bicamerica Product Model: DV64 Packaged Quantity: 1 Product Type: Speaker Driver Type: 2 x 6.5" Woofer, 1 x 0.75" Tweeter Frequency Response: 29Hz to 21kHz Shielding: Magnetically Shielded Color: Black Material: Wood - Enclosure Dimensions: 38" Height x 8.5" Width x 9.25" Depth. Item is hazmat and non-returnable.
Whether used as a traditional stereo speaker or a front speaker in a comprehensive surround sound system, each BIC America Venturi DV64 two-way tower speaker is designed for high performance. The speaker features dual 6.5-inch poly/graphite woofers and dual passive radiators to ensure impressive mid tones and extra bass extension. Meanwhile, the 0.75-inch soft dome tweeter reproduces the high frequencies with confident, silky results, creating a frequency response of 29 Hz to 21 kHz. In addition, the DV64 speaker is powerful enough for almost any application, with a maximum recommended amplifier power of 200 watts and a minimum of 10 watts.
Listeners will also appreciate the speaker's elegant appearance, which is topped off by the gracefully tall profile and black laminate finish. For stereo applications, listeners should purchase two DV64s, but for surround sound applications, the speakers perform particularly well when matched with other BIC America models, which are tonally matched to deliver a balanced audio profile. The company recommends using its DV62si speakers for the rear channels, the DV62CLR-S as the center speaker, and the V1215 subwoofer for top-level bass performance. All the speakers in the DV line are magnetically shielded to prevent video interference when located near a TV or monitor.
The speaker measures 8.5 by 38 by 9.25 inches (W x H x D) and carries a generous seven-year limited warranty on parts and labor.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does these speakers come two for 127 or that's 127 each |
Answer: | Single!!! $127 each!! |
Question: | What is the impedence of these speakers |
Answer: | Amazon's "4 ohm" listing for these speakers' impedance is totally off. No speaker company would be stupid enough to make 4 ohm speakers at this price point, because the kind of amp you'd need to power them would be several times more expensive. |
Question: | Will these work with a subwoofer? There are conflicting reviews, I go with these or Polk 400's. These will be used primarily for movies and general tv. Thanks in advance |
Answer: | Any speaker can be used with a separate subwoofer when powered through a receiver. The receiver does the job splitting the signal between speaker and sub. If you're going to use a subwoofer with your system there's no point in getting towers though. The difference between a bookshelf speaker and a tower is bass extension and the bass in most towers doesn't come close to the bass produced by a sub. You'll save $160 by buying the BIC DVi62's and have the same sound as the towers as they both use the same woofer and tweeter. THX settings, for example, force towers to be run as bookshelves anyways so save yourself some money. Just a recommendation. |
Question: | Does this come with 2 speakers for the price. I notice it says (single) on the title of these speakers or this speaker |
Answer: | this is the price for 1 tower, you have to buy them separately. l will say though it is totally worth it! this is a steal for what these speakers are, they have a built in crossover put out a large amount of sound. the build quality of these things is fantastic, they feel super heavy and strong. l have a pair dayton T-652's and l can hold one of those towers above my head with one hand no problem. these towers are hard to manage with 2 hands. they have big magnets and a nice thick wood which actually stained wood. the wood is a very tightly packed MDF with a black powder coat and the most convincing (stained wood) veneer l have ever seen. it looks like real stained wood and it feels like real stained wood, l would have never even guess until l pulled out one of the drives to look inside. the MDF is so tightly packed that is feels smoother than marble. |

Question: | This a good setup to buy? 2x bic america venturi dv84 + bic america f12 12" 475-watt + denon avr-s510bt receiver. will everything work well together |
Answer: | Yes that setup will sound great, I have an older model denon with the dv84's and from low to high volume it sounds great. |
Question: | How tall are these and how much do they weigh? every website seems to say differnt |
Answer: | Although I haven't weighed them, I just now measured them at 43.5 inches in height, on the floor, no stands. It's a wood floor, not carpet. For what it's worth, they are heavy. You don't have the impression that they're "cheap"; you certainly feel that you've got what you paid for. |
Question: | I have a 50w per channel receiver. Will that be enough to push these speakers |
Answer: | Yes. These speakers are efficient and will get more than loud enough with your receiver as long as you're not looking for ear bleeding levels. |
Question: | How does this speaker compare to the Acoustech PL-89 speakers |
Answer: | I wouldn't be able to give you a comparison because I haven't had the opportunity to hear these new towers. They are beautiful and seem to be well received from people who own them. I can say that the DV84 towers are outstanding with excellent mid range. The Bass is shockingly full for a tower speaker. I think either speaker would serve you well. The PL-89 is newer, and appears to have a nicer finish. The BIC company has been making solid speakers for many years so it's your choice. |

The stunningly accurate BIC America DV62SIB 175-Watt 2-Way 6.5 In. Bookshelf and Surround Speakers have received numerous "best buy" ratings from a leading consumer buyer's guide magazine. Their long-throw 6.5 in. poly/graphite woofers deliver tight, accurate extended bass. Their patented Venturi vents assist in extended low frequency performance. Custom-designed poly dome tweeters and unique front cabinet angles enable minimal distortion resulting in clear mid and high frequencies. BIC America speakers are ideal for use with all surround and music formats. They can be used as mains speakers, a front or rear center, and as surrounds.
Attention, all bass lovers needing small speakers: this stately pair of Venturi DV62si bookshelf speakers from BIC America uses a patented and specially tuned rear-panel Venturi port to extend the its low-frequency response to an impressive 43 Hz, nearly a full octave below the capabilities of most bookshelf speakers--the place where kick drums kick and bass guitars growl their deepest. The 2-way speakers would suitably fill out your home theater with surround sound, enliven your dorm or apartment with music, or provide gentle background ambience in your bedroom or business.
Use one pair for stereo or surround applications or pick up 2 pairs (4 speakers) for use as the front and surround elements in a multichannel listening system. The speakers are magnetically shielded for distortion-free placement near your television or computer monitor. Video programs sound more lifelike and enveloping with timbrally matched speakers all around, and plenty of newer music formats--from the DTS surround CD to DVD-Audio and SACD--offer music from your favorite artists mixed expressly for surround-sound listening. (Alternately, you could use these as surround speakers with larger, floorstanding speakers for the front left/right channels.)
Standing just under 15 inches tall, the DV62si speakers each use a custom-designed .75-inch, ferrofluid-cooled dome tweeter for extended high frequencies and a 6-inch poly/graphite-blend woofer is light yet rigid for tight, accurate, and remarkably extended bass.

Question: | Anyone using these as front left and right speakers in a home theater? How do they sound |
Answer: | Yes, I use these as front left and right speakers in a home theater. They are really good speakers. They are very clear and loud. Good range of sound...highs, lows, mids. I also have bic center speaker and smaller surrounds. You get a lot for the money with bic. I highly recommend them. |

Answer: | You really do not need it.BIC has one of the best warranties on speakers you will find |

Question: | Anyone use these speakers for front? and how are they perform as Front speakers. I have never used in-wall speakers. Thank you |
Answer: | Hello, They were designed to work with amplifier up to 125 watts/channel. |
Question: | Will mount these on a wall that backs up to a closet front facing AV room: Can anyone recommend box and port size for separate ported enclosures |
Answer: | Yes. Spray paintable grills that are held on with magnets. If you want the to blend into your walls, colorwise (and you haven't chosen the color for your walls, yet) choose the spray paint color first. Then the paint technician can color match to the spray paint. Rarely can you color match spray paint to wall paint. But matching wall paint to spray paint should be, relatively, easy. And while I understand that you only asked about the grills, I just wanted to pass along what I wish I knew before I painted. |
Question: | is this price for a pair |
Answer: | This is a single speaker. |
Question: | What is the depth of the speakers? My wall cavity is less than 3 1/2" deep |
Answer: | According to installation cutout template, it's 12.75 by 7.25. Please see the Polk website for the template. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What other front speakers do you guys have paired up with this center? I have the F12 and I want to get something that pairs up well with this. thx |
Answer: | I've had a number of center channel speakers paired with a number of front speakers and subwoofers, and it comes down to the size of the room and what you're listening to or watching. In a smaller room I've paired small Denon 3-way speakers and a Yamaha subwoofer, and it sounds great. In a larger room I've used a larger JBL center channel and JBL front speakers with sufficiently large woofers that I don't need a subwoofer. In the large room I want a center channel with a broader frequency response (3-way center), and the BIC simply can't give me that.Stated differently, the BIC DV-32CLR works great in some environments, and not as great in others. If you're in a smaller room, the BIC will work great, regardless of the front speakers you're pairing it with. Good luck! |
Question: | I wanted to use this with a tv, will get the matching bookshelf speakers later. Would a mini amp or a receiver be better? Thanks in advance |
Answer: | Just get a reasonably priced receiver (I have a Sony 7.2 STR-DN1020) Loads of power for everything you will ever add to your AV system. No need for additional power amplifiers. The receiver also has an auto calibrator. Super cool. It sets all of the settings for each speaker automatically. Use the provided mic, hit the button, and make the ambient sound is as quiet as you can get it. No fans, don't hold it in your hand, close the windows, and place the speaker at ear level and the distance you will be sitting. It's magical if you pay attention to the details. Enjoy! |
Question: | Is this a good choice as a center speaker for computer/desktop (under the monitor, connected to a receiver |
Answer: | It will work. It is not a large speaker, so it should fit under your monitor. It works well for a center channel, I've been using it for my TV for a few years now. |
Question: | I use this with an Onkyo SR 507, and have found that it is not as loud - or not as loud as I would like it to be. Any suggestions |
Answer: | It maybe needs tuned. Your amp has enough wattage to make it loud enough to make people cover their ears when turned up. Have you searched the home theatre FORUMS for answers? That usually helps |

Question: | Hello all. has anyone experienced no sound! i hooked my sub to my receiver with a skw rac to rca subwoofer cable and nothing. what did i do wrong |
Answer: | What make and model of receiver are you using and does it require any special settings to produce or send sound to the sub? Some receiver requires a calibration to properly send sound to the sub be it a negative very low or positive low and high volume. I believe with Sony's models tend to have negative frequency output. Also make sure to check the back of the sub that you have the volume notch tuned high enough to at least hear something. Then I would also check where the sound originates IE the TV or other device connected to the receiver and if they are connected properly as well as the output from the receiver to the sub. |
Question: | Can you run this on a 2 channel with no sub out |
Answer: | Yes you can. Attach your right and left channel outputs to the sub woofers l and r inputs with speaker wire. Then run wires to your speakers from the subs outputs. Make sure you read the manual to set up the crossover frequency. This is a great subwoofer, which I use for my 7.1 system, awesome for music and movies! A great addition to any setup I would think. Enjoy. |
Question: | What's the deal with this h 100ii vs f12 sales? this has a better woofer and box but the f12 sells tons more units for not much less cash |
Answer: | Can’t speak for the f12 but will say we have been very satisfied with the 100ii Plenty of power and will boom you out of the room if you choose |
Question: | Is this accurate and good for music? i don't just want "dat bass". lol |
Answer: | Of the 3 best selling BIC America Sub-Woofers this is the best for music only purposes. It isn't a one note thumper. Adds just enough bass to bring out the bottom line. Subtle, if tweaked correctly. |

Question: | To clarify because the ad says both that this is for a single speaker and that this is for a pair, is this for one(1) or two(2) speakers |
Answer: | The price stated is for one speaker and is a very good price. When I purchased mine they were around $130 each. They are extremely good speakers. I have mine hooked up to a tube amplifier and they sound amazing. Turned to full volume they will make your house rock. A couple of tricks I learned from a you tube video: place them on speaker stands about 18”-24” from a wall because of the rear bass port, and remove the screws from the horn tweeters and rotate them 90 degrees for better sound dispersion. |
Question: | Two come for |
Answer: | No that is the price for each. And I must tell you they are 100 percent worth it. Great quality and sound. |
Question: | Is the price for a pair |
Answer: | No, price per one |
Question: | Is there a pair for sale |
Answer: | I do not have a pair for sale I apologize this is a per item price |

Question: | I was thinking of using this speaker for my laptop to listen to music. Will it require an amp? If so, any recomendations |
Answer: | This is a passive speaker and will need an amp. Not sure what kind of amps but something around 50w should be fine. Hope this helps. |
Question: | what does the LCR stand for |
Answer: | That stands for Left Center Right. IT can be used in any of the main positions in a home theater |
Question: | I have a harman kardon avr 347 5.1 setup in a fairly small room, will this center matchup with my other hk speakers&sound good? also looking at dt procenter1000 or polk tl3 is the horn a better choice than a tweater? I prefer more treble than thumping bass most of the time thanks |
Answer: | I cannot speak about the other speakers you mentioned, the BIC is in a small room so that is not a problem, with this speaker be careful about the amount of sound you put through it to keep it balanced. On the point Horn vs Tweeter You said you like allot of treble this is the speaker for you mid and high have a very clear and bright sound. Hope this is helpful. |
Question: | does this speaker come with a wall mount? or can it be mounted vertically on a wall to be used as a surround speaker |
Answer: | Yes brackets are on the back. And yes I am using mine for surrounds. They must be vertical for surrounds.Google for tech explanation on sound.BTW I love my Bics.Real man speakers! |
