Answer:	Yes, the newer version doesn't have the "pop" during startup and shutdown. I own several versions dating back to 2008 (ie: the original hardwired version).

Answer:	The receiver defaults to using the 3.5mm input. If there's something playing on that input, that's what the receiver will play. If there's nothing playing on the 3.5mm input then the receiver will use the RCA input.

Answer:	It's not really an upgrade. The Tripath chip in the LP2020A+ was a very different type of amplifier than the TI TPA3118 in this one. These are good in a different way, but not the same thing. I used an LP2020A+ to drive a pair of 12" Yamaha stage monitors, loud enough that you couldn't hear yourself thing. The TI version probably has higher fidelity, but it doesn't have the same kind of drive capability. The Tripath chip from the 2020A+ is extinct. There are no more, and no more will be made.

I was beginning to get nervous; my amp is scheduled to arrive tomorrow.Btw, I just discovered that many of the negative review comes from those who have not been verified as owners.
