Answer:	Yes, it does have an auto shutoff. I can't say exactly how long; but at least 30 seconds and probably closer to a minute. As far as using the light, I check it during the night and do not hear a noise.

Answer:	No problem with the clips. The headset ear pieces stop working one and then the other. Intermittently at first, then nothing at all. Lasted less than a year
