Answer:	No pivoting, you are right. All the pivoting will have to come from the tripod you are using. This mount just holds your phone or tablet securely. Try using a tripod you'd use for a camera that has the pivoting head attachment. That's fairly common with many tripods.
Question:	Will this adapter fit over a survivor case
Answer:	It would not fit over my case (it is not a survivor one) I have to take it out of the case to use it.

Answer:	This is only a stand and does NOT include a shutter clicker (like a selfie stick). I use this weekly for holding my tablet while I take photographs of my business products. It is very sturdy and the part that holds the tablet is strong and sturdy. Please note that the 9.5 inch Samsung tablet (NOOK) does NOT fit this stand. The height adjusts easily and the tilt of the device holder also adjusts easily. Very easy and quick to assemble right out of the box. I would purchase again.
Question:	Will this work for taking pictures
Answer:	If the keyboard detaches it should work. The stand that came to me would not work for my Samsung Galaxy Tab S. The part that holds the device was different than what is pictured here. This one looks like a better.
