Answer:	I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. When I am using the tablet the front cover of the case is folded to the back. The rigidity of the case is the same as the tablet without a case. If you mean open as in the tablet being propped up at an angle, I wouldn't be picking it up in this position as I use it in this method for watching a video, etc and there is no way to 'lock' the tablet into this position to pick it up. If you mean the case front cover bending, no it does not, but again you wouldn't pick it up by the front cover. So if I'm not fully understanding your question, please ask again and I'll try to help.

Question:	Will this work with the 2020 version
Answer:	It works with the 9th (2019) Generation Kindle. I don't see a 10th (2020) Generation of the Kindle 10 for sale yet.
Question:	is there a comfortable way that you can hold the Fire without propping it up
Answer:	Adding to my own answer, sorry. In addition to pillow stand holders, there are, of course covers which pivot to both portrait of landscape viewing but the buyer need read reviews carefully. A pillow tablet holder is more stable if you enjoy the slumped, inattentive, jabbing motion I use when reading, minor typing, or all the above while shouting at Trump on TV, & tossing the occasional wistful of popcorn. A kickstand will not keep you hands free like a tablet pillow stand. Aside from crafting a throne out of towels there IS one other hands free option: Amazon makes available limited variety of "docking stands", some made specifically for Amazon Fire products as well as generic "tablet stands" . These generally are rigid stands for a desktop or table; some charge up the Fire ( look carefully some don't). When docked, most are held in landscape view. There is one Fire 8 model with dedicated keyboard reminiscent of a Surface (in docking layout only!) I noticed, while there are a variety of 2017, 7th generation docking stands for Fire 10, there were not any specified updated docking stands for 9th generation 2019 Fire 10. [ docking stand w/ dedicated keyboard might be available for new version Fire 8- wasn't sure] For hands free at table or desk, there remain options of generic docking ( non charging ) stands potentially fitting a 2019 9th generation Fire 10 but that model is not listed among a plethora of other suggested 10.1 tablets. I bet most of us use Fire on our laps as it is most handy for reading & viewing video, some games. Not knocking Fire but doubt it is a 1at of 4th choice as the workhorse at desk, even a Chrome book is now cheaper.... This would explain the limited choices of rigid docking stands charging. It took me a bit to fathom why The docking station had not been so figured to the 2019 model which goes to prove my own circuits are slower than a Kindle or a Fire. The Fire is fun, inexpensive, but with its balky memory, speed, & other glitches, would I want a docking station? Um, I did look for it, or some way to charge while using as the plug in cord becomes loosened & distressed if sat in a viewing position where even a feather of weight aplliesr; even perched on a soft pillow stand. Come on, really?! Anyway, having bad wrists from mountain climbing I needed hands free, both pillow stands as docking stands are available w/o propping Cheers

Question:	Is the magnet on the auto wake/sleep function safe to use on my fire tablet
Answer:	I have the same kind of cover (with a magnet) on my 5th generation 10" Kindle with never a problem. It's designed to put the kindle to sleep when you close the cover. I bought it again when I bought the 7th generation 10" kindle and it does the same thing and is safe, as far as I can tell.
Question:	Does this work if you want to stand the Fire vertically? I only see it in horizontal mode
Answer:	no and that really sucks. I wish they would do an origami case like the one for my 8.9 - works both ways really well.
Question:	Why are there different answers to the question "are the speakers blocked when the case is used in the horizontal position? Either it is or it isn't
Answer:	The case features cutouts for the speakers. The speakers are not covered (or blocked) at all when the cover of the case is open, our closed. When the stand feature of the case is being used in the more upright position the speakers point down, toward the surface off whatever the tablet is set on. When the stand is being used in the " typing" position the speakers point away from the user.
Question:	When used in horizontal mode are speakers blocked by the case enough to make a difference
Answer:	if you have this in horizontal mode, the case bends back and the speakers are directed straight into the surface the kindle is resting on. totally useless - a complete design flaw.
