Answer:	I got this for the kindle paperwhite which is not $79. The one that is $79 (actually on sale right now for $59) is the kindle with touch, 6" display. The out side dimensions of this kindle are just a bit off of the paperwhite. Paperwhite is 6.7x4.6x.36, kindle touch is 6.7x4.7x4, so it is slightly bigger. Since the paperwhite fits really snug, I don't think it would fit the touch, not without work putting it on.

Answer:	I can now answer how long is long enough for folding back the cover to read to cause the cover to crack and, eventually, fail. I bought my cover in April of 2015. My cover finally started to show wear over four (4!!) years later in the summer of 2019 along the leading edge of the case first, then along the spine. My lovely case is looking rather ratty now, so I came back to buy another. <3 I don't know about anyone else, but I consider 4.5 years of faithful service for $13 a bargain. I'm ordering my second and looking forward to another 4.5 years.

Answer:	I can't tell, by the numbers you gave, which case you need, but if you look at the fintie ad with all its pictures, you can see if their power-button, volume-control button, charging-port, headphone-jack and speaker-holes match up with YOUR Fire. Those things are located in very different places on the two different "generations" of Fires. This fintie is for the newer model (released in late 2013) I looked at the pics of the case (they have one that compares the two generations with the case) and looked at my Fire to double check hole placement and did okay; my fintie fits great. My Fire has a rocker-button for volume, and the fintie's hole for it encompasses the headphone jack as well.HTH!!!!

Answer:	I believe an indestructible plastic case of some kind would be better suited for that age group. While I'm not casting a shadow on the case's capabilities, I don't think it would protect it from downforce pressure and inevitable drops, spills, etc. I'm a hold-over from the Civil War era and instinctively protect things I do no wish to replace, so this case is great for me.
