Answer:	Yes. I have dropped my phone on some hard services from a height of 3-4 feet several times. Surfaces were concrete in the garage and at least once on a granite floor while waiting on an elevator and someone bumped it out of my hand. No damage. It is a concern when you see your phone bounce off of a hard surface and skid across the floor. If you want protection, this item, the DEFENDER series has protected my units from damage.
