Answer: No there’s an opening for the camera area, but it’s bumped up enough to protect your iPad. When you have the front folded back it IS covered. Worth the money I’ve had mine a while now and it’s literally so much like the apple one. Worth it. Hope that helps! :)

Answer: I paid the premium price (from the Apple store) for a Mini IPad 4 case/cover. Used it for a couple days and then decided to not use it anymore. Two years later, I removed it from the drawer, opened the cover and in the process discovered that the inner lining was deteriorating as I rubbed my thumb on it. So, in retrospect the cost of $15 is better than the $65 for a formaldehyde infused product.
