| Answer: | Yes. Connect the R7800 to the FiOS router (they don't use modems) by attaching an ethernet cable to one of the FiOS router's LAN ports, and the other end to any of the ports on the R7800. Then set up the R7800 in AP mode, and disable the Wifi of the FiOS router (not critical, but neater). The FiOS router will assign all the IP addresses, and the R7800 will provide wireless services. Works like a charm. You can use the LAN ports of both the FiOS router and the R7800 for wired connections. |

If what you have now is s modem/router, do not connect this to that. It takes technical knowledge to make this work using another router. You need to buy a modem, activate that modem with spectrum and then connect this to the modem. |

It automatically finds the signals and keeps you going. My NG extender gave me a 2G and a 5G connection separately. So I had to constantly disconnect my WiFi on devices and choose the other when the connection was crappy or lost. No more of that!! My internet is one thing now and that's worth the price of admission. Also, love love the app so that I can actually see all devices using it. And the security updates are great since I'm working from home now and have to use company programs. |

To replace internet only service you need your PPPoE username and password (can call and get from century link) to enter into the router. Then there is a setting on the router for VLAN tagging which needs set to 201. Then you send thier crappy "modem" back and tell them to take off your monthly "modem" lease fee. Provides much faster speed throughout my home! |
