User questions & answers
Question: | What is the source of these routers? are they customer returns, nib, used |
Answer: | I purchased my G3100 router brand new in box from Amazon. It works perfectly and Amazon customer service would help with any issues. |
Question: | Will the My Fios App recognize the new router and if so is it any different |
Answer: | Yes, but! You have to log the new router into Verizon. Follow the instructions online. |
Question: | Hi, two QQs: how do you handle the network name and password? how do you access the router (to view network users, etc) from your computer? Thanks |
Answer: | Download the Fios App and you can make the password whatever you'd like it to be. |
Question: | I have this router. has anyone added the fios wifi extender? if yes how well does it work |
Answer: | I have both G3100 and fios wifi extender (Verizon price was cheaper) and am using the self-organizing network (SON) feature. You can use the extender via wifi or coax, and I am using the coax option. I connected the coax, plugged the extender in and they automatically synced up. I then had to turn on the SON feature from the Verizon web site (under the advanced router management options). Since then, everything is working well, no issues from the wifi side. |
