Answer:	The sb6121 only has speeds of 172 Mbps download and up to 131 Mbps upload. This model has up to 343 Mbps download and 131 Mbps upload.
Question:	Going with the cable modem option what’s the best router to pair this with for spectrum
Answer:	It depends on your needs. Needs are based on the number of devices connected and the size of area you are trying to cover. I would highly recommend a mesh network unless your home is 1200sqft or smaller. A centrally located router could cover that. The biggest problem is getting the 5ghz frequency to reach throughout the home. The 5ghz gives you speeds over 30mbps on wireless devices. 5ghz will reach roughly 40ft in all directions from your access point (ap). A mesh system gives you multiple ap and thus more area covered by the 5ghz.
Question:	How many devices can connect at once? Is that that the 8x refers to
Answer:	The 8x doesn't refer to the number of devices you can connect to it. You only want to connect one device and that's your WiFi router. You wireless router determines how many devices can be connect based on the available number of ip addresses on the wireless device. The 8x refers to the speed of Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS). Its informing you on the speed of DOCSIS 2.0 vs the newer DOCSIS 3.0. Ultimately your speed will be determined by how much you want to pay your internet provider. And you can determine how many devices you want to connect by the router you choose.

Answer:	You can, you have to log into the 192.168.1.1 and sign in. It is under WiFi usage.
Question:	How do we set this up to use instead of the Comcast modem rental? The Comcast customer service rep said he doesn't believe it's compatible
Answer:	You will need the MAC address for the device ready to go before you call your cable provider. After you plug it in and hook it up to your internet feed from your provider and power it on, call their help desk and tell them you have a new cable modem and need this device (MAC) it to be set up under your account. You provide them the MAC address and they should be able to see your device on their network. Once they get it set up, you can connect your WIFI router to the cable modem and they should be able to see the WIFI router connected to your new cable modem. Enjoy saving $ by not renting a cable modem from the provider.
Question:	if i already have a modem installed, would i just have to unplug that modem and plug this one in to work or would i have to contact my ISP
Answer:	It is a simple swap, however you do have to contact your ISP to activate it. It's actually one of the easiest things to do with my cable company and you might actually be able to do it online from a smartphone via the ISP's website.
Question:	Can this router handle gigabyte internet service
Answer:	No. NO. Nooooooooooo! I will try to submit a picture with speed trials but in short- it is a complete lie and false advertising to state openly or even imply that this can handle 1 Gig speeds. Directly connected with a 6ft Ethernet cable I cap out at around 576 Mbps (roughly half of a Gig service) but when I swap to Wifi it drops by an order of magnitude to ~ 50 Mbps or 1/20th of a Gig service. Xfinity technicians came out 3 separate times and verified that we are getting 1 Gig speeds but I was told that you need DOCSIS 3.1 to handle 1 Gig service. Really regretting paying so much for this junk. It looks sharp, I will say that but for two people trying to teach via Zoom this device can't handle it. Loses connection and/or poor service DAILY!

Answer:	My TP-Link products, including my Wi-Fi router, operate 'solidly'. I don't use 'Smart Connect', because my devices did not ask for, nor do they deserve, a buffet of choices. I do not use automatic channel, because I am waiting for automatic empty channel. As to Alexa, I bought a new Amazon fire tablet for My Lady, a 70 year old retired school teacher. The included Silk Internet browser is perfectly adequate for installing Chrome. I downloaded about 25 APKs and finally got the correct ones, in the correct order, which lead to upgrades and yada, yada. THAT gave her, her bookmarks and passwords!!! in Chrome. WELL, I cleaned up her Home page by putting just about everything into a folder1. And I left Alexa out there! She has Amazon Music on an Amazon tablet, and the Alexa is sitting on her home page. I am a Kindle and actual books reader and I left that on her home page, although she probably hasn't read a book in half a century. I can put her on Amazon Music on her own pages/playlists/favorites, but alas, my digital library cannot be shared without more work than I am willing to do, and I just side loaded APKs to load Chrome on an Amazon fire tablet. Still, she's going to make Alexa work for her, with timers and alarms and weather and Amazon Music, maybe. Question:	Has anyone noticed their wifi will cut out randomly with this product throughout the day
Answer:	Yes, this is happening increasingly. I bought about 3 months ago. The problem started maybe a couple of weeks later. Now, it’s multiple time, every day. The provider company says they can’t fix. Arris said I was only getting 1 upstream channel, instead of 3. And that was the cause of the intermittent WiFi. You can check your status by typing 192.168.100.1 in browser. Scroll down past your downstream list to see your upstream list. Each line represents a channel. An Arris rep also told me to ask for a ‘tier 1 supervisor’ at the internet provider company. Otherwise, they won’t know how to assist you. That’s where I’m at now. They’re sending a tech out to check everything. I’m just not sure they can fix my upstream problem. We shall see.

Answer:	I have Optimum as my ISP and my Arris modems have been very reliable. I had an Arris TM822A that worked perfectly since 2013. I wanted to stop leasing so I purchased the Arris SB6183 as an upgrade and it is working fine for the last 2 weeks. I would only buy one of two Arris. The SB6183 (16x4) or the SB8200 (32x8). I would not buy the Arris SB6190 /TM602/TM1672) or anything with a Puma 6 chipset. The Puma 6 chipset from Intel has a defect that firmware has still not fixed. You can google that chipset to see the issues with latency. If the Arris works with your cable company, I don't see an issue buying one of the two mentioned. BTW, the two are modems only, no router or telephone connection.

I add 2-2.5 ounces of syrup -- usually one ounce of one flavor on one side, and another ounce of another flavor on the other side. Then I drizzle a small amount to finish off the color. If I were selling them, I'd probably need to make 'em bigger, but these are just treats for my kids after dinner...
