But that nice fat RG cable coming to your house will finally be utilized to a lot more of its potential like never before and then they say the sky is the limit or at least 6gbps easily with no modifications needed at the customers side other that more power full modems when available. Answer:	Technically, no you don't. You can set up any router to communicate with other computers or devices (think printers, scanners etc.) in your network. Now if you expect access to the internet, then yes you do need internet service.

Answer:	No question that unless you want to be able to tinker with the low-level and specifics yourself, it's absolutely the way to go! - but if you really are a "nuts & bolts" (hands-on) person that knows exactly what and how to do what you're asking, then perhaps you might want to look at the latest WRT series( WRT1900ACS) model instead? (http://www.amazon.com/Linksys-WRT1900ACS-Dual-Band-Gigabit-Router/dp/B014MIBLSA/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1458357368&sr=8-4) That would allow you to get right down to the bit by bit as far as how it handles every single thing from the firewall perspective, although of course to do so you have to understand (and not just understand but realize the implications thereof) exactly what you're able to do with that model, which just like previous WRT models allows you to get into the code and manage (as well as mangle) it yourself. "As always, your mileage WILL vary!" It's the difference between whether you wan it to work like 99% of people do, or if you're that 1% of the people out there that demands to be able to control every aspect of what exactly that firewall does, how it reacts to various stimulus, etc You _are_ trading off the Mu-MiMo feature for the 1.6GHz dual processor added horsepower as well as the ability to "roll your own" code for the firewall, or at least have the ability to augment the basics, and add functionality specific to your implementation. Answer:	Standard power supplies for routers only accept 110v and they are not grounded so connecting 220v would be a fire hazard not to mention it would overload the supply as well

Answer:	I can't tell you exactly but I can tell you our store is about 1000 square feet and the router covers that area effectively. It's not full strength at furthest point from the router but it reaches everywhere in the store with a decent signal. On a bar measurement of 3 bars it shows 2 bars at furthest point. Question:	I purchased an EA-6200 and could not get it to setup the home network to where I could access my other computers files ect. Any clues
Answer:	It may or may not be a router problem, but router manufacturers (specifically Linksys and Belkin) have started making it harder to use their equipment. That's why I encourage using the simplest choice.
Question:	Does this router have good RANGE? It's a long way from where it would be located near my desktop to the other end of the house
Answer:	I don't recall the range of the AC900. I'm now using the Linksys AC 1600 (also known as EA 6400). I'm getting a range of about sixty feet in all directions on that model, through plaster walls and exterior stucco. I've been very satisfied with the reliability and signal strength throughout my 100+ year old house (and on the screened porch).
Question:	Has anyone used a range extender with this? if so which one the RE2000 or RE
Answer:	We purchased this a couple weeks ago for a small business. I am sending it back today. The signal comes and goes. Even laptops and printers within 10 - 15 feet of it can't hold the connection. I don't think we should need a range extender for that. Hope you have better results.
Question:	what would you recomend between this EA6200 and E2500? Is for a big apartment and conect 6 devices. Thanks for your help. I'm trying to chose one

Question:	Can anyone measure the spacing between mounting holes on the back
Answer:	I have used several different Motorola Routers and I have one at my house that is 10 yrs old. The technology change will be the death of your router. Keep it on a surge protector and it should be good for at least 5 years. But you never know what will be developed that you have to have to increase the speed or capabilities. For what it is worth that is my opinion.
Question:	Does it work with frontier fios
Answer:	Model MR2600 is a much more advanced WiFi router than the 655. Range and speed experience can never really be predicted because of so many variables, including things such as obstruction, building materials, positioning of the router, neighbors usage, or even the time of day. However, one wireless router can give you a much better chance of better range and speed over another. In this case, model MR2600 advances your chances a great deal because it includes 4 antennas versus three and includes implicit and explicit beamforming which targets the WiFi signal to each WiFi client which helps with extended range and speed.
Question:	Are parental controls included, or least available to use with this router
Answer:	Model MR2600 will work behind a "modem" for Fios. Bearing in mind that this is a WiFi router only and not a gateway. Your existing device you have with Fios service is likely a device with a built in router. To use this external router instead, you will likely need to disable the built in WiFi router you have.
Question:	Does this router work with Verizon Verizon fios
Answer:	You can optimize the wireless in your router. Login to your router by opening a web browser and typing in the address field: 192.168.1.1 The default password is: motorola. Click WiFi > Advanced Settings. Under the 2.4 GHz, change WiFi Channel from "auto" to either 1, 6, or 11. (It may take a couple of tries before you find the right channel. Your neighbors are also using 2.4 GHz and that includes microwaves, baby monitors, blue tooth devices, car alarms, etc. Many interferences around you). Next, set the Channel Width to 20 MHz for the 2.4 GHz. Now go to the 5 GHz on the same page and change the WiFi channel from 'auto' to 161/80. Change the Channel Width to 20/40 MHz.
