Answer:	Because Amazon hasn't corrected their product subscription. I submitted one two weeks ago and has yet to be done. If you need more than 1 ethernet port, then this one is not for you. This has only (1) 2.5 Multi-Gig port.

Answer:	Yes. But you need to call the TDS customer service and provide your CMAC or SN to register your device. These numbers are on the box and the unit

Answer:	I have never heard of a phone to internet splitter, at least not expressed in those terms. However, for VOIP (which means Voice Over Internet Protocall), you must have at least one phone jack in a modem, or a modem-router combination. Some modems have two such jacks, which could provide two different "lines." Most importantly, you must have your internet service provider's PERMISSION to install and use such a modem, or modem-router combination! My own ISP (Wow, aka Wowway.com) REFUSED to give such permission because that would cut into their profits, since they would no longer receive a monthly FEE to RENT their age-old junk, much of which are at least five years old, which is like a millenia in this day of super-fast-paced electronic offerings. I had to send back every VOIP-capable modem I bought from Amazon and other places because my ISP REFUSED to enable them to work with their so-called service(s). Talk about anti-competitive business practices ... U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), are you paying any attention?

Answer:	Hello. I am writing this Dec 2, 2020 and just activated this modem 2 days ago with Spectrum. It is not on the list of approved modems, but oddly enough the CM400 is. I just told the tech support who activated it that it was compatible and it's worked fine with no problems. I went from 100-120 mbs on my 100 mb plan to 250 to 450 mbs, still on the 100 mb plan. This modem is not on the list of approved models but it seems to work fine so far without periodic latency/drops like the Arris model from Spectrum had.

Question:	How would you describe the 5GHz range and performance at a distance
Answer:	5 GHz band can be thrown only so far. It's not meant to be a long throw radio band but a short thrown band that is higher speed. If you want a stronger 5 GHz band for homes that are usually 4,000 sq ft or larger you may not have enough juice with this unit to cover your home unless you can place this in the middle of your house, which isn't always an option. I recommend getting range extenders/repeaters if you want to cover a very large home or property. Place your router near the middle of your home if you can and install extenders on opposite sides of the house. This will give you a wider throw and allow wireless connections well outside of your home if you would like good connection while out in your yard. If you live in a 2,000 sq ft house this should be powerful enough to offer a strong 5 GHz band no matter where you are. If you live in annolde home or highly insulated home then it's hard to say - radio waves diminish more when fired through walls/floors.
Question:	Can this handle multiple xbox ones with open nat
Answer:	Even the cheapest routers are fine upto about 128 sessions. This router does fine on 256 session. Unless you plan on having more than 256 Xboxes connected, this router will be fine. Your internet connection is a different issue.
Question:	Should I buy this router or keep my x8 router
Answer:	The X8 looks like it has more capacity. They're both mu-mimo and the x8 has 6 ports opposed to 4. One of the big reasons I bought this was the operating system (look up Netduma). So far haven't had any issues - even just watching youtube haven't had the buffering and quality issues I had just using my AC1900 modem router. If you're not having issues you may want to stay with what you got, but if you want the benefits of the dashboard and operating system, and have the money, you can give it a try,
Question:	Can this router just be used for other than gaming?. I don't do games

Answer:	You can, you have to log into the 192.168.1.1 and sign in. It is under WiFi usage.
Question:	How do we set this up to use instead of the Comcast modem rental? The Comcast customer service rep said he doesn't believe it's compatible
Answer:	You will need the MAC address for the device ready to go before you call your cable provider. After you plug it in and hook it up to your internet feed from your provider and power it on, call their help desk and tell them you have a new cable modem and need this device (MAC) it to be set up under your account. You provide them the MAC address and they should be able to see your device on their network. Once they get it set up, you can connect your WIFI router to the cable modem and they should be able to see the WIFI router connected to your new cable modem. Enjoy saving $ by not renting a cable modem from the provider.
Question:	if i already have a modem installed, would i just have to unplug that modem and plug this one in to work or would i have to contact my ISP
Answer:	It is a simple swap, however you do have to contact your ISP to activate it. It's actually one of the easiest things to do with my cable company and you might actually be able to do it online from a smartphone via the ISP's website.
Question:	Can this router handle gigabyte internet service
Answer:	No. NO. Nooooooooooo! I will try to submit a picture with speed trials but in short- it is a complete lie and false advertising to state openly or even imply that this can handle 1 Gig speeds. Directly connected with a 6ft Ethernet cable I cap out at around 576 Mbps (roughly half of a Gig service) but when I swap to Wifi it drops by an order of magnitude to ~ 50 Mbps or 1/20th of a Gig service. Xfinity technicians came out 3 separate times and verified that we are getting 1 Gig speeds but I was told that you need DOCSIS 3.1 to handle 1 Gig service. Really regretting paying so much for this junk. It looks sharp, I will say that but for two people trying to teach via Zoom this device can't handle it. Loses connection and/or poor service DAILY!

Answer:	Here are my impressions. I recently purchased the Motorola and it is performing as expected although set up with Xfinity was a bit frustrating. I have used Netgear equipment in the past and been happy with it. I believe the CM1200 is a little bit older technology than the MB8611 and more expensive. But either of these modems should serve you well.

Answer:	Yes it is a ADSL2+ Modem/Router combo. For Wireless networking it was useless. I even changed to a higher gain antenna combination. I used if for two weeks then got rid of it. I've tried 6 different Modem/Router Combo's over the last year. My service Provider, CenturyLink will not replace a broken Modem/Router. They make you lease one from them. Their equipment has normally been CRAP as far as performance and networking distance. I have been using a TP-LINK TD-W8970 for the past two month's 24/7 without any problems and it has a superior range to any of the others I've tried in the past. I have 6 computers on my home network with the farthest one being located in a small workshop in the back yard approx. 250ft from the TP-Link Modem/Router which is located in a separate room in the house. The three antenna's really make a difference. If you require a dual band modem/router TP-Link has one also, but I only needed a single band one. Hope this helps.

Answer:	The Zoom Modem/Router comes with a line-splitter which plugs into the phone line wall outlet. The router plugs into one side of the splitter and your phone plugs into the other side. This is standard for all DSL internet line internet services.

Answer:	The number of devices depends on how they are connected and what they are doing. Wired devices only use the router's CPU as they pass traffic, wireless devices use the CPU and radio recourses. This router has a pretty powerful CPU, so I would expect it to handle wired devices well (having said that, it designed for home/small business use so there could be unknown limitations in the software). Radio is tricky to predict because there are so many unknown factors. I would not plan to have more than about 15 active wireless devices on this kind of router, but it can probably maintain a connection to a greater number of devices if they are mostly idle and well divided between the 3 bands.It also depends on what kind of data the devices use. If it is basic webpages without a lot of graphics and video, then you can have more devices than if they used a lot of bandwidth.

Answer:	The additional 3 ethernet ports are reserved for port aggregation, which is currently not supported on the CM1150V. I guess you would call them reserved for future use. The CM1150V does not include built in router. Most ISPs, like Xfinity only provide a single IP address with your service, so you would not be able to get multiple computer or other network devices to work without a router connected your modem. What you would need to do is connect a router to one of the ports on the CM1150V, then connect your devices to the router.

Answer:	Yes, this is happening increasingly. I bought about 3 months ago. The problem started maybe a couple of weeks later. Now, it’s multiple time, every day. The provider company says they can’t fix. Arris said I was only getting 1 upstream channel, instead of 3. And that was the cause of the intermittent WiFi. You can check your status by typing 192.168.100.1 in browser. Scroll down past your downstream list to see your upstream list. Each line represents a channel. An Arris rep also told me to ask for a ‘tier 1 supervisor’ at the internet provider company. Otherwise, they won’t know how to assist you. That’s where I’m at now. They’re sending a tech out to check everything. I’m just not sure they can fix my upstream problem. We shall see.
Question:	It's impossible to get a true perspective of this modem/router because the reviews and questions are for many Arris products. How is this possible
Answer:	I have Optimum as my ISP and my Arris modems have been very reliable. I had an Arris TM822A that worked perfectly since 2013. I wanted to stop leasing so I purchased the Arris SB6183 as an upgrade and it is working fine for the last 2 weeks. I would only buy one of two Arris. The SB6183 (16x4) or the SB8200 (32x8). I would not buy the Arris SB6190 /TM602/TM1672) or anything with a Puma 6 chipset. The Puma 6 chipset from Intel has a defect that firmware has still not fixed. You can google that chipset to see the issues with latency. If the Arris works with your cable company, I don't see an issue buying one of the two mentioned. BTW, the two are modems only, no router or telephone connection.

Answer:	I don't think so. This is an 802.11AC router, not an 802.11AX (wifi6) router. AFAIK Asus has already released an 802.11AX version of this router model. Means, if you want the AX type, then you should order that type.

Answer:	Yes, most bugs seemed to occur with June update. It took them until August to fix. Router now works as intended and better than my previous ac5300. GT 5300 is definitely a step up. Let's hope no more breaking updates.

Answer:	This router is for home internet, not cellular internet.

Answer:	@29db If I remember correctly so the range is pretty good 2500 Square feet + should be expected. However, it's already been pulled out of my network. Personally, when adaptive QOS is turned on in my environment, the router reboots every few minutes to an hour including gigabit auto negotiation issues, etc. Again, the range is great but the software has made this a purchase filled with regret. Merlin doesn't have anything out for alternative firmware flavors for the rog rapture either. In short, I would recommend avoiding the headache until 3rd party firmware is able to address the instability issues and user reviews reflect that. In my case, this is the first ASUS network product I have purchased and it's going to be several years before I look back in their direction.
