If your only Verizon service is wireless for your cell phone(s), and your home network is supplied by another company, then you may not be restricted to using a Verizion FIOS router. Without knowing what "other services also" you refer to, I cannot specifically assess compatibility.

Question:	I have this router. has anyone added the fios wifi extender? if yes how well does it work
Answer:	I have both G3100 and fios wifi extender (Verizon price was cheaper) and am using the self-organizing network (SON) feature. You can use the extender via wifi or coax, and I am using the coax option. I connected the coax, plugged the extender in and they automatically synced up. I then had to turn on the SON feature from the Verizon web site (under the advanced router management options). Since then, everything is working well, no issues from the wifi side.

Answer:	Not a modem; but, you probably already have a modem. For FiOS, your Optical Network Terminal (ONT) provides the modem function of converting (‘demodulating’) the optical digital signal into the electrical digital signal used within your building. The G1100 Quantum Gateway takes the ONT electrical output and provides wireless and hard-wire Ethernet distribution and MOCA cable-TV distribution.

Answer:	no limit on number of devices. There is one WAN ethernet port and 4 standard ethernet ports. Most people including myself connect via wifi and the only rea limit is how much band width. (speed) you pay for. I usually have three PCs connected One a work station for work at home, two iPhones, two iPads, Three TVs and business phone connected via ethernet.

Frontier sent me this router for use with FIOS internet and they told me that the USB port is only used for powering an external cable modem configuration and it is not for any data use. So don't hook up your USB drive and expect it to work.

Answer:	You get the speeds that you pay for to your internet service provider. The router can do up to 1000 mbps, but you can't get that high if you are not in a plan with that speed with your internet service provider.
