Answer:	I can only comment on the 1900. For my needs it's perfect. I needed a router with long range, my house is apprx 3000sq with multiple floors. Certain areas of the house fell out of the range of my old Linksys. With the 1900 all my devices generate a full signal anywhere in the house and even outside in the back yard. The 1900 appears to handle multiple devices with no degradation of signal or speed. Since you didn't say what your needs are I can't comment further.

Answer:	You can do this a number of ways: a 5GHz back channel, a wired backchannel, or a Powerline backhaul. I use the Powerline myself, it gives me the fastest backhaul while leaving the 5GHz wifi channel for data transmission.

Answer:	hi Chris, I think it's a supply and demand thing and Asus pricing. Prices on all routers seem to be changing daily. With more people working from home and needing networking equipment, router pricing was crazy for a few months, but seems to have settled down a bit now. The ax88 is older (released in 2018) and has more wired ports and accounts for some of the price difference but not all of it. ax92 was released late 2019. Both good routers IMO, I would lean more toward the ax92 as it's a bit newer and will likely get firmware updates sooner than the ax88. Good luck with you choice.

Answer:	Someone said 4-5 ounces per cone; I don't use NEARLY that much. I use the 9 oz clear plastic cups. I shape a nice ball of snow taking up most of the cup. I add 2-2.5 ounces of syrup -- usually one ounce of one flavor on one side, and another ounce of another flavor on the other side. Then I drizzle a small amount to finish off the color. If I were selling them, I'd probably need to make 'em bigger, but these are just treats for my kids after dinner...

Answer:	I don't think so. This is an 802.11AC router, not an 802.11AX (wifi6) router. AFAIK Asus has already released an 802.11AX version of this router model. Means, if you want the AX type, then you should order that type.

Answer:	Yes, most bugs seemed to occur with June update. It took them until August to fix. Router now works as intended and better than my previous ac5300. GT 5300 is definitely a step up. Let's hope no more breaking updates.

Answer:	This router is for home internet, not cellular internet.
Question:	How is the range differ from Ac
Answer:	@29db If I remember correctly so the range is pretty good 2500 Square feet + should be expected. However, it's already been pulled out of my network. Personally, when adaptive QOS is turned on in my environment, the router reboots every few minutes to an hour including gigabit auto negotiation issues, etc. Again, the range is great but the software has made this a purchase filled with regret. Merlin doesn't have anything out for alternative firmware flavors for the rog rapture either. In short, I would recommend avoiding the headache until 3rd party firmware is able to address the instability issues and user reviews reflect that. In my case, this is the first ASUS network product I have purchased and it's going to be several years before I look back in their direction.

Answer:	The red translucent tape used to fix broken taillights can be used to reduce the glare from the usually blue lights. Just keep adding layers till it's livable. Gerry

Answer:	That primarily depends on your ISP and router/satellite placement but in my case I could get sppeds up to ~400MBps in the vicinity of the satellite

Question:	In repeater mode with two computers connected, does local traffic between the two go through the primary router? Or is it handled through the repeater
Answer:	An access point behaves as a switch, which forwards traffic to the correct port for the MAC address of the recipient. This means wireless to wireless traffic need not go to your router. The only difference between the router mode and access point is whether or not the unit is set up to interface with another network.
Question:	Are the wired LAN ports gigabit or only 100Mb/s
Answer:	Asus product page for this item says "RJ45 for 10/100/1000/Gigabits BaseT for LAN x 4, RJ45 for 10/100/1000/Gigabits BaseT for WAN x 1" which means 1G for all 5 ports (1 WAN, 4 LAN);
Question:	IN AP mode, can you connect both wired and wireless devices
Answer:	Yes, we have it in AP mode and also have a laptop wired to it. Works great with no noticeable reduction in speed.
Question:	My Cable company is charging me $10 a month extra for home networking and a modem. Can this work in place of the cable equipment and save me money
Answer:	No. The Asus RT-N12 is a router.. only... and has no cable modem function. Depending on your situation, you will need, at minimum, a compatible (check with your ISP) cable modem - latest Docsis version 3.0 is preferable though not required. Motorola seems to be a safe choice for most service providers. If you combine phone service with internet, than you will need a compatible cable/voice gateway instead of a simple modem. Gateways are much more expensive than modems and much harder to find, especially when considering compatibility.As far as saving money... if all you need is a modem and a router, then the combined cost will be let's say $107 (router= 40 + Motorola SB6121 = $67) + shipping. Considering your $10 rental fee, the equipment pays for itself in just under 1 year.... assuming that all you need is a modem and NOT a gateway.

Question:	I have purchased this item but would like to add an air mesh extender. Which one would work
Answer:	They don't even have to be the same brand. I have an Asus WiFi Router/switch, Monoprice 8 port gigabit, Rosewill 8 port gigabit, and a Netgear 5 port 10/100 all hooked in a daisy chain system and they all seem to be okay (except the Netgear is starting to fail after 4 years, which is why I'm here looking for a replacement).

Answer:	Typically the connection lights on network equipment can be 1 of two colors. Orange indicated a 10/100mb/s connection and Green indicates a 1000mb/s connection. These indicator lights typically flash indicating activity on the port.
Question:	I have a netgear - nighthawk dual-band ac3200 router with 32 x 8 docsis 3.1 cable modem would it connect nd help with range
Answer:	It reached as far as I ever needed to in the houses and apartments ive lived while I had it. The biggest being a 2200 square foot, 2 story house. Sadly mine finally died about a month ago after 8 years. It just stopped picking up networks and there was nothing I could do to get it to work.

Answer:	I used to use this with an Xbox 360 and Playststion 3 both linked to the same router. Worked fine. May need to also consult with Xbox support as well.
