| Answer: | I deployed my new Cisco RV110W within twenty minutes of opening the box. I immediately acquired an additional 20 Mbps and a range increase of over thirty feet versus my former Belkin wireless router. My house has a main floor and a basement which constitutes roughly 2,400 sq. ft. and I have exceptionally good WiFi coverage throughout the entire house. The WiFi signal will begin to weaken near my mailbox but still reaches to my neighbor's house across the street. |

| Answer: | It will not control individual User bandwidth by IP ... well, will not control it exactly ... for each User. The Quality of Service programming allows the administrator to set different bandwidths to different VLANS (which in turn "controls" the bandwidth maximum all Users can enjoy in any given VLAN). This feature is a "limiting" feature, which allows you to split up the total bandwidth available from your ISP. Alternatively, each VLAN can be set with a Priority of use, so that more important functions can be given higher priority over non-essential functions on the network; this option allows full ISP bandwidth to be used, but just prioritizes it (and delays some of it) if you see periods of extreme usage higher than your ISP allows. So , technically, you can limit an individual's bandwidth, but depending on what you've got in mind for your entire network -- it may take some doing. |
