Answer:	Yes, but when you put AX routers/AP's in mesh mode with AC AP's the AX ones will change over to AC mode. If you don't have a pro model Eero as the router, this would be a nice upgrade. But if you have the pro model + beacons, you would need to upgrade all of them to see a benefit. If you just want more pro's, then this is more future proof than buying the wifi 5 pro model, and you could at a later time replace all your units with WiFi 6 models.

Answer:	I don't think so. This is an 802.11AC router, not an 802.11AX (wifi6) router. AFAIK Asus has already released an 802.11AX version of this router model. Means, if you want the AX type, then you should order that type.

Answer:	Yes, most bugs seemed to occur with June update. It took them until August to fix. Router now works as intended and better than my previous ac5300. GT 5300 is definitely a step up. Let's hope no more breaking updates.

Answer:	This router is for home internet, not cellular internet.

Answer:	@29db If I remember correctly so the range is pretty good 2500 Square feet + should be expected. However, it's already been pulled out of my network. Personally, when adaptive QOS is turned on in my environment, the router reboots every few minutes to an hour including gigabit auto negotiation issues, etc. Again, the range is great but the software has made this a purchase filled with regret. Merlin doesn't have anything out for alternative firmware flavors for the rog rapture either. In short, I would recommend avoiding the headache until 3rd party firmware is able to address the instability issues and user reviews reflect that. In my case, this is the first ASUS network product I have purchased and it's going to be several years before I look back in their direction.

Answer:	I actually own both products. This is actually a far more powerful product. The ax92u is a 1.8ghz dual core processor and is a great router or mesh node, but lacks the power or versatility that this system has.
Question:	What’s the difference between the Ax92u and this series
Answer:	A quick google search shows the practical limit is 6 If the nodes are not connected with a wired backhaul, the nodes will connect to each other and then the primary router. Given my experience with Zen WiFi, you should also consider the number of devices you expect to connect, and the devices will be used. I have 58 devices on my network, which is more that the zen wifi can handle, leading to performance issues. I have reverted back to a GT-AC5300 with an RT-ACX68U which is rock solid. I hope to switch to a RT-AX89X as the primary router which will allow a 10Gps link to a 10Gps switch connected to my NAS and the GT-AC5300 as a Mesh device. If ASUS can’t deliver the RT-AX89X in the next couple of weeks, I will consider going to ORBI RBK852 or ORBI RBK853.
Question:	What is the maximum number of satellites/nodes allowed in the mesh network
Answer:	Yes! I have 4 of these ZenWifi Ax and all are backhaul wired freeing the 5G-2 AX band completely making these AiMesh system extremely reliable and WiFi super fast.
Question:	Is it possible to run all the nodes with an ethernet backhaul (so between themselves, as well as to the main router
Answer:	The WAN interface from the unit is an Ethernet connection. So from the cable modem you need to use a CAT cable to connect. It will work with any ISP if you connect to the modem this way.

Answer:	You can do this a number of ways: a 5GHz back channel, a wired backchannel, or a Powerline backhaul. I use the Powerline myself, it gives me the fastest backhaul while leaving the 5GHz wifi channel for data transmission.
Question:	Does the asus rt-ax92u support wired backhaul from a second meshed unit to save a channel
Answer:	hi Chris, I think it's a supply and demand thing and Asus pricing. Prices on all routers seem to be changing daily. With more people working from home and needing networking equipment, router pricing was crazy for a few months, but seems to have settled down a bit now. The ax88 is older (released in 2018) and has more wired ports and accounts for some of the price difference but not all of it. ax92 was released late 2019. Both good routers IMO, I would lean more toward the ax92 as it's a bit newer and will likely get firmware updates sooner than the ax88. Good luck with you choice.
