I did have issues with more than one extender on the same network using same SSID name as main router so I had to change one of the extenders to a different SSID.

Answer:	Yes, it can work either hardwired as an access point or wirelessly as an extender of your WiFi network. The key to making a seamless network extension is by using the same wireless password as you use for your existing WiFi. This way devices can roam and you don't need to login again. I would recommend a wireless extender if you receive a good enough signal at your desired location. I find my Netgear signal as the strongest in my house. Your home construction will determine your strength of reception.
