Answer:	I would like to give you some personal advice. Do not buy any type of Netgear extender. They do not work at all. What you need to do is get a expensive router that is the best thing for your Wi-Fi system. Amazon can supply you with that. Or go to Best Buy and test it out. Trust me extenders do not work. You’re throwing your money away.

Answer:	Yes the EX8000 used as a wifi extender you have the option of having a guest network. You can use same SSID name as your main router or use a different SSID altogether. I did have issues with more than one extender on the same network using same SSID name as main router so I had to change one of the extenders to a different SSID.

Answer:	there are 4 ports. I use multiple ones as this is the only system I can find that does not change the network name but once a year I also have one break and have to replace it or hard reset it myself.

Answer:	You would need a Powered Antenna adapter. Basically the powered antenna hooks to the RP-SMA slot, then has the powered hub, and then you put a % dbi antenna on it and it'll get 2x more antenna strength. Even 2x more then what you'll use for a higher DBI antenna. So if you use a 24dbi antenna, it'd more be like a 48dbi antenna. Answer:	This is a wireless access point not a router, that means that it only provides a wireless signal for computers, tablets phones etc. It must have a wired connection to it from the internet. It does not have a firewall so if you have a internet connection only at this time you should get a model with a router/firewall not this model.
Question:	How would it deal with heat? Would like to put it in an outdoor outlet that has a waterproof outlet cover. Gets lots of morning sun
Answer:	It's going to be connected to the same network and can have the same SSID. I use mine as an access point at the other end of the my house and gave it a slightly different name so I would know which device (my router also has wireless connectivity). I could always look at signal strength and tell the difference, but I like the slightly different name.

Answer:	Also note that the ethernet port is only 100Mbit. So if your existing WiFi is usually capable of more than 100Mbit, for example your WiFi internet is 150Mbit or more, you will only get around 100Mbit or a little less to your ethernet device. You'd have to pay a little more money for a different device with a GigaBit ethernet port if you want to get anything more than 100Mbit out of this ethernet port.

Answer:	In my case, our router & cable internet connection was in my son's room. By the time we got to my room and other rooms in the house the connection got slower, more interruption, lousy TV streaming, etc. Now that we have this extender all of those issues have disappeared. No one can explain it in simpler terms than me because I listen to my son who is going to school for computer programming. I have no idea how any of this works! 

Answer:	I have the AC1200 Wifi Range Extender, (Model EX6150). It is worth the money as it seems to have a much more powerful range than my router. With both of them my range is extended significantly. the range easily covers a 3000SF highly insulated home (including all interior floors and walls). The Wifi signal is strong on 3 exterior porches as well. Setup was a breeze and the Wifi signal lights clearly let you know if you are too far from your router to power the extender.
Question:	Does it matter if my wall outlet is behind a piece of furniture? The only wall outlet I have available is behind my dresser
Answer:	I found out from experience that a mirror directly between your computer and the wifi router will weaken the signal. A metal filing cabinet would do the same, but wooden furniture doesn't hurt it at all.

The key to making a seamless network extension is by using the same wireless password as you use for your existing WiFi. This way devices can roam and you don't need to login again. I would recommend a wireless extender if you receive a good enough signal at your desired location. I find my Netgear signal as the strongest in my house. Your home construction will determine your strength of reception.

Answer:	I have just purchased this device. The wireless works, but neither ethernet port works. The documentation has ZERO information on how/why to use ethernet ports.

Answer:	Probably the only way to know is to try (& return it if it does not work - that's why I purchase from Amazon - superior return process & customer service overall). This unit did not work for me. My situation is WAY less than 80-100 feet (about 35). Problems I had were that the unit would not connect via wifi to Foscam (!) camera (had to use ethernet cable); and while it DID connect to router wifi it would drop out about every 20 minutes requiring reboot (unacceptable). What finally worked for me is TP-Link Powerline Adapters (they use house wiring to transmit data between camera & router - works GREAT!). So you might consider Powerline Adapters (plug one into LAN router & AC outlet, other into AC & device via LANt cable. Instructions say they must be on same circuit, but as long as they are on same Mains power panel it should work - although be aware they say they won't work on a Surge Suppressor power cable, which apparently can block the signals). Price is comparable as well. Either way, good luck!

Q1: How can I confirm that the wifi range extender has been configured successfully?

• Please observe the light on the extender: if the third signal light is on and remains solid green, that means setup was successful. If the third signal light does not display solid green, please try completing the configuration process again.

• No, it can’t: an extender can increase the coverage area and signal strength of your WiFi network, but cannot increase the speed received from your internet service provider.

Q3: If my extender loses connection frequently, what can I do?

• If your extender often loses connection, please reduce the distance between your router and extender.

Q4: Where is the reset button, and how can I reset the extender?

• The reset button is on the side of the extender. Pressing and holding the reset button for more than 8 seconds will cause the extender to reboot.

Q5: The extended signal is strong, but its speed is low.

• We suggest placing the extender about halfway between your router and the WiFi dead zone. The location you choose must also be within the range of your router.

• Check if you are using the internet very close to your router. If so, please switch to the router’s WiFi network manually.
