You would need to setup as normal with the app, connecting to your existing router, setup as a parent node (router) and any child nodes (access points), will temporarily create a double NAT, but will be resolved by changing to bridge mode later.

Answer:	I recently purchased this item from Office Depot. I was considering the Velop and the Netgear Orbi. Two factors that finalized my decision. I got a super price on this system and this system had 3 modules (which I thought would be better in my house. My internet enters through the bonus room above garage which is at one end. The bonus room is not connected with the remaining second story. I had to place one unit there with the modem. The second one is downstairs from that one (where my extender had been). The third was placed at bottom of stairs feeding the remaining 2nd level. I possibly could spread them further, but wanted to be sure at setup. I pay to have 100 mb service at modem and actually exceed this by 10-15 wirelessly throughout house. I no longer have dead spots (as I did even with my Netgear 1900 extender) and no longer lose connection with printers. Although, the Netgear Orbi may do the same, I am very pleased with my purchase. Only complaint that I had initially was that each module has only 2 Ethernet connections. When connecting the first unit with the modem, you only have one remaining. However, with the speed that I am getting wirelessly, it doesn't appear to be an issue. However, I would be more comfortable if at least one unit had 3or 4 Ethernet connections.

Question:	Does this have beam forming technology
Answer:	This device is compatible with anything that has a usb port to plug it into and an active wifi connection. It was produced in 2012 and has to be able to upload the driver to your device either through a cd ( provided) or a search engine. I'm no ps4 expert but if your game meets these requirements it should work but it's not really plug and play. It will need configuring once it is set up. I have all new equipment and still never made this work real well for me. I haven't spent much time on it though. Results are different for others depending on the device and the wifi connection. The price is right but just keep in mind that the technology is 8 years old and will require some patience to set it up

Answer:	Hi, not sure about the 360. Though not apples-to-apples, I tried this on our Xbox One S for you (unplugging the LAN and trying to get the external wifi adapter to activate rather than built-in console wifi) and the One S did not recognize the adapter at all. You may be better off buying a wifi range extender than includes a LAN port so you can connect your wifi to the extender then run the ethernet cable from the extender to your xbox 360.

Answer:	Linux drivers (tar.gz source) are provided on a disc that comes with the adapter so you may have luck. Did not work for me for Ubuntu 18.04 LTS possibly due to the documentation that comes with the driver stating the driver was only tested/confirmed working with Linux Kernel up to 4.8 and my Kernel is newer than that.

Answer:	While I have four range extenders accessing my router, I've not tried to daisy chain them. I suspect that, since the speed between the extender and the router is not as fast as just accessing the router from your computer, that daisy chaining them is possible but the signal might become slower the farther you are from the router...ie: accessing the farthest extender in the chain. Answer:	using a 10 foot cable on a wireless adapter is not a clever fix. It will reduce your throughput drastically. There is a reason why netgear only provides a rather short usb cable with their adapter. the longer the usb cable the less sense it makes to by and expensive high speed wireless adapter, since your limiting your speed through the cable length. you might wanna consider repositioning your router instead, this makes much more sense because you can use a gigabit cable with long length that wont reduce speed at all. Or going for a full wired connection through your house instead.

Answer:	Try rolling software back to 1.0.0.18 , and then go to control Panel and under Devices and Printers right click on the A6200. Select Properties, select Hardware, Properties, Power Management, un-check - allow this computer to turn device to save power...... See if that works for you.....

Answer:	It would be a good item yes, but keep in mind 150Mbps is pretty fast, as well as the fact that you are only going to go as fast as the network you're connected to. The fastest Internet speed currently available in the United States can get as high as 120Mbps from what I've seen. My speed is currently an average of 45Mbps and that is plenty fast. So again, all depends on what router you have, the network you're connected to and so on. Hope that helps.

Question:	I see on the box for this thing it says 5ghz...but its not picking up my 5ghtz network. So does it not support it
Answer:	I run half my home network on 2.4Ghz and half on 5Ghz with a dual band router, and use this adapter to connect my laptop to the network. Works fine and actually I can "see" both bands on the laptop. Not sure why you are having a problem unless (1) the adapter is bad or (2) could you possibly have your network set up so the SSID is "hidden"?
Question:	Will this work with Windows
Answer:	I am getting 390 MBps on my Windows 10 machine. I used the CD to install the software and it automatically downloaded the most recent patch. I am using a TP-Link AC1900 router...picks it right up...no issues.
Question:	What is the reason to use this? I have a router already
Answer:	This can convert a non-wifi capable computer to wifi capable. If you use cable to connect your computer to your router, you don't need this.

Question:	If I buy two of these kits will I have 1 sender and three receivers or 2 pairs
Answer:	Keep in mind, the video on a product page misleads customers! You can't buy WiFi PL extender PLW1010 as they say in Video. If you buy two kits, you'll have - one powerline LAN distributor (non-wifi) - two WiFi extenders (each: PL receiver + Wifi broadcasting + 1 Ethernet Port) - one powerline receiver (non-wifi) you can plug to the power outlet and use as single Ethernet port
Question:	Can someone tell me what this does
Answer:	Depends on which version you refer to. The PLW1010 has WiFi capability, the PL1010 does not. They both have an ethernet port. The base unit is located near your router - use ethernet to connect the base unit to your router to get the best throughput from your router and into the house wiring. Plug it into an Electrical outlet and it sends your LAN signal through your house wiring to be picked up by the remote unit(s) plugged into wiring elsewhere in the house. The remote unit has an Ethernet port, so you can attach a Smart TV, BluRay, Game Console, whatever, to the ethernet and get pretty good network response (probably not gigabit, but pretty good anyway). With the Wifi Version (the PLW1010) the remote unit ALSO transmits WiFi signal. I have not purchased this WiFi product yet, I have a ethernet only version right now and looking at this to expand my iPhone/tablet Wifi signal in remote parts of the house). As such, I have an older house and the electrical wiring is sketchy and is rather noisy and fluctuates, but this technology seems to work nonetheless even on the other side of the house, I even have had the base unit plugged into an extension cord and it still works. So bottom line, this will extend your LAN signal to another room of the house via ethernet, and the WiFi version also creates a WiFi Access Point in that remote room. From what others say here, that Wifi is an extension of your router WiFi in SSID/pw. I hope this answers your question.

Answer:	Comes with 2 units. I was able to get a POE switch to work as well (get an unmanaged one for less complicated setup), and I added in multiple POE Cameras to it. Works great!

Answer:	Most of the answers here are giving you bits and pieces. Here's the scoop from a long time network engineer and administrator. (BTW, I'm here because I'm buying another one for another client.) 1. The wired devices in this listing act as if you had a long Ethernet cable. It's transparent. Its a work of art. Much better than any mesh system 2. As far as the wireless, there are two options - The thing to remember is most devices (computers phones, tablets are fairly single minded when it comes to finding a better signal so if they can see the current access point at all they will hang on for dear life. You can turn off the wifi on the device and turn it back on and that will help it to reanalyze the situation. Business systems which have many of these monitor where devices are and will automatically kick a device off of one, forcing it to reanalyze the situation. a. Use the default setup - some people like this because then they can tell which antenna (access point) their device is connected. b. Duplicate the existing wifi network - This can be done using the WPS setup or manually. I like doing it manually so I can configure the whole setup (channel, channel width, security level, etc.) For the most part the handoff should work seamlessly however there may be times where certain devices (usually older ones) will refuse to change or take a while to make the switch. For most of my clients when I have to setup one of these, I duplicate the existing network to make it easier on them. I have yet to hear of any complaints. Two more details. For best performance of any of these devices 1. It MUST be plugged into the wall outlet, no power taps or surge protectors. They have filters which choke the communication 2. These normally wont work across a meter - in other words, you probably cant use it to share internet with your next door neighbor. There are a few instances where it works but they are few.

Question:	While it sees my 5ghz network, it refuses to connect to it. it only connects to the 2.4ghz one. why? i'm using the latest realtek drivers
Answer:	The short answer is that 2.4 GHz will generally register as having better signal strength compared to 5GHz. Windows tends to prefer this, and most consumer routers won't signal the endpoint to switch to 5GHz. You can fix this by going to the advanced adapter properties, and seeing if you can set it to "Prefer 5GHz". Alternatively, the WiFi Mode setting can be set to a set that excludes 2.4GHz like 802.11 a/c/n/ac.

Question:	Will it work in a USB 2.0 slot
Answer:	Some confusion to the answer. 1. Yes on USB 2.x support. 2.USB 3.0 is 1.5gb / 3.1 is 5gb. 3. USB 2.x is 480mb. Now here is where the mad science shifts. First what is your ISP modem DSL / Cable or something else speed. Simple test would be to run an ethernet cable to your modem, and go to speedtest.net. This will test your line speed. Once completed you will have a download / upload speed results and yes this is in mbps. so say 20mbps = just 2.5 megabyte per second, (device bit divided by 8). From the modem to the router to your machine, no matter what adapter you have your internet speed cannot go above the speed test results. If you buy an AC router you have potential to talk up to 1100 mbps to anyone within the house network, but speed will fall to the slowest allowable speed on the internet. In this example 20mbps. We call this the bottleneck where potential and reality do not jive. Many WIFI standard from older to new. a-54mbps, b-11mbps, g-54mbps, n-480mbps, ac-800-1100 mbps. Getting a newer WIFI stick is good for the OS and better drivers, and may provide some speed, but the speed comes from optimized drivers and OS not the hardware you will never be faster than the bottleneck speed on the network. Did you know that the difference between uppercase and lowercase in showing speed indicates whether were talking Giga / mega bytes/bits. Capital indicates BYTE and lower BITS. 8 bits to one byte.

Answer:	This supports both dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, so yes (as long as you plug it in to a USB 3.0 slot. A standard USB 2.0 slot is not capable of handling 5 GHz speeds)
Question:	I have a upstairs room that is far enough away that I can not pick up my wifi. Would this help in getting me connected
Answer:	If my experience is a predictor of yours, then yes. This worked perfectly for me. I have a Netgear R7000 Nighthawk router (AC1900) downstairs and could not get a consistent or fast connection before. This pairs perfectly in the far end of the over-garage room and now I have an extremely stable and fast connection.

Answer:	I wish I had seen this thread. Install fails with Windows 10. The support page for NetGear, having to do with Windows 10, does not list this model among Win 10 compatible WiFi adapters. Mistaken purchase by me, it turns out.
