Answer:	It's USB 3.0, if you have an available port it works. If you have USB 2.x, it works but not at full-speed. USB is backward compatible. There is a link to download page for drivers on the Amazon page. I have had no trouble with Windows 10, MacOS 11 should be good.
Question:	I have another adapter that has a usb 2.0 port (it isn't blue) for external hdd , If I used this would it be faster ? since 3.0 should be faster
Answer:	I had to install on my Window 10 machine (latest update applied) under "administrator" credentials. I would contact the vendor and ask for their advice. Once installed, my WiFi connection had been fast and very stable.

Answer:	I have an HP Notebook that the network adapter that only supported IEEE 10/100. I needed IEEE 1000 to have access to IPv6's increased encryption. I'm not sure if this will help but 1) I needed to disable all other network options 2)then shut down laptop 3)recycle my modem and 4) then bring the laptop back up. If that doesn't work if may be because your system sees the adapter as a USB drive. Mine did. Remove the description of the USB drive in your device controller then do steps 1-4 again. Once the system recognized the adapter you shouldn't have any problems turning off your macbook or you bridge, router, modem, or whatever.
