Fully Digital peth 7.1 receivers from the input to the output stage.
Harman Kardon's DPR 2005 7.1-channel audio/video receiver is a must for videophiles and audiophiles alike, offering 7 channels of high-power amplification, full compatibility with the latest surround-sound formats, and 192 kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog audio chips. It's also Harman's first AV receiver to feature built-in progressive-scan digital video processing. The DPR 2005's newly designed digital-amplifier section--featuring a fully digital signal path from input to output--delivers high-power output with strong low-impedance drive abilities, empowering the receiver to drive even difficult speaker loads to ample volume levels.
The 120-watts-per-channel DPR 2005 features HDCD processing and Harman Kardon's exclusive switchable front-panel audio, video, and digital-audio connections (inputs switchable as outputs and vice-versa). The DPR 2005 also offers complete Quadruple Crossover digital bass management for all inputs--critical for balancing the inputs from different surround formats--including the 6/8-channel "direct" analog inputs to accommodate playback of high-resolution digital-audio formats such as DVD-Audio and SACD. The receiver's bass management seamlessly integrates these formats with any speaker system, regardless of the capabilities of the playback device.
Digital signals from sources like DVD players, HDTV set-top boxes, and CD players are routed directly to the receiver's DSP section and then to the digital-amplifier section, while remaining completely in the digital domain from input to the final amplifier output stage. This topology maintains maximum digital signal purity by eliminating multiple stages of A/D and D/A conversion, and the resulting distortion and noise that can occur in conventional amplifier designs. The DPR 2005 also includes a host of important features such as A/V Sync Delay for synchronizing the audio and video signals in systems using digital video displays, external video processors, or with digital sources such as PVRs, satellite, or digital cable; RS-232 connectivity for bidirectional remote control and firmware upgradeability; Harman Kardon's exclusive EzSet remote with 2-line LCD display; Dolby Virtual Speaker and Dolby Headphone surround processing; and even MP3 playback (through a digital-audio connection with your MP3-CD-compatible source component).
Of special interest to custom installers, the DPR 2005 offers extensive multi-room capabilities with assignable amplifier configuration and A-BUS Ready connectivity (2 jacks); a comprehensive selection of digital and analog video and audio connections, including 2 assignable, wide-bandwidth (50 MHz), HDTV-compatible component-video switching inputs; 6 digital-audio inputs, front-panel and S-video inputs and outputs; surround back channels assignable to remote zone; and a dedicated Zone II remote for multi room operation, among other features.
Harman Kardon's proprietary Logic 7 audio technologies deliver improved, derived multichannel reproduction from both matrix-encoded and 2-channel stereo recordings with derived stereo decoding (unlike the mono decoding provided by other 6.1 formats) for the back surround channels. Logic 7 is compatible with 96 kHz sources and offers 2 listening modes, Cinema and Music, for improved playback of both matrix-encoded movie soundtracks and 2-channel music recordings. The result is better imaging and separation along with a greater sense of envelopment and a more seamless sound field.
The DPR 2005 also uses Harman International's patented VMAx Virtual Theater audio processing, a DSP method of producing realistic, high-fidelity, 3-dimensional, 360-degree surround sound audio from 2-channel stereo and matrix-encoded multichannel audio sources, using just 2 loudspeakers or headphones.

Advanced digital processing handles all of the latest surround formats from Dolby and DTS, including Dolby Pro Logic IIx, Dolby Virtual Speaker and DTS 96/24. Of course, our proprietary Logic 7 technology is also present to give older stereo and matrix soundtracks a full 7.1 presentation. A wide range of multiroom options, including A-BUS Ready connectivity, assignable rear channels and a separate Zone II remote, lets you enjoy audio tracks throughout the house. If you want the latest technology in a compact yet elegant form, the DPR 2005 is the perfect choice.

User questions & answers
Question: | will it work with iPhone5s |
Answer: | I live in a large mid-sized city (half million) with over 20 AM &FM stations broadcasting 24/7 and 24 hours a day. So I do pick up some static from all these transmissions. But I can tune in the stations I want for the most part by simply turning radio's built in AM antenna to the best signal. The FM side has an extendable rod antenna and is noise free. With the built in aux input, you can also enjoy your I-pod, I-pad and othe devices without having to use earphones! |
Question: | does this connect to pc |
Answer: | Just find a "audio cable" with 3.5 mm male connectors on each end. Plug one end of the cable into your i-pod earphone jack and the other end into the aux jack of the radio and you're all set. |
Question: | Does it work with 220V input |
Answer: | Sorry, but this is just a simple am/fm portable radio with a "aux out" jack (3.5mm) to hook up to a speaker, amplifier or headphone via a miniature patch cord with male connectors on each end. |
Question: | can anyone tell me exact lengths of all cords power audio and cord between speakers etc....thank you |
Answer: | It can not be removed, but you can take of the back (where batteries can be inserted) and fold it up and store it inside. It's not a very big radio and it's a little lightweight....BUT the sound is nice and clear..and it's super cute. Exactly what I'd been looking for. Ok, I know you only asked about the cord but had to share the rest. :) |

The HKTS15 subwoofer delivers tight impactful bass in an elegant design. View larger |
No high-performance home theater would be complete without a powered subwoofer. To deliver deep, substantial bass, the HKTS 15 uses a rigid 10" woofer powered by a powerful 100-watt amplifier. The woofer's rigid design allows it to move, while still hold its shape without bending or distorting. This results in high excursion with minimal distortion, and a home theater experience that you just don't hear but feel.
Easy to set up.
Whether you're doing it yourself or a professional is doing it for you, the HKTS 15 is easy to wire. High-quality speaker connections on the back of each speaker allow for the use of "better" speaker wire. The powered subwoofer includes both a line-level (LFE) connection (for today's 5.1 and 7.1 surround receivers), and speaker-level connections for use with older receivers or stereo receivers. The HKTS 15's LFE input even has an "audio sense" circuit to turn itself off automatically when not in use. If you're using the included wall brackets, they attach effortlessly to the bottom of each satellite, and even allow rotation so you can precisely dial in the best speaker placement.

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this work for a subwoofer |
Answer: | You could try to return the speakers, or buy a receiver. Also, just FYI, you always need a receiver unless it is built in like with a soundbar system. That is usually explicitly called out though. The receiver is usually the expensive part, and that's one of the reasons a SONOS type system costs $600. You could probably get a decent 5.1 receiver for $250. |
Question: | This there a warranty? Was in my boat and got wet and now it is not working |
Answer: | To hook up a 5.1 speaker system you’ll also need an 5.1 amplifier that has both input jacks to connect your music, TV, DVD, game console, Blu ray player, etc. Then the amp has output jacks (shd hv at least 5) to connect the amp to your 5 HK speakers (center, front left, front right, rear left, rear right & the sub woofer). This speaker configuration will produce the best surround sound. Make sure at least 2 of the 5 satellite speakers are positioned behind people listening (left & right sides). The HK set up manual shd explain how to set up. I recommend a good quality amplifier (Pioneer, Harmon, Onkyo) because the sound quality from the speakers is as good as the amp. You’ll need speaker wires too. Hope this helps. |
Question: | What is the actual size of the amp 1 spec has it 9 by 10-1/4 by 2-3/16 inches and them the other one says 8 x 3 x 7 inches |
Answer: | My sub failed 7 months after purchase and I only used it a couple times a month, I can't understand why they don't address the problem that keeps plaguing this subwoofer! |
Question: | Anybody knows the meaning of the three leds? One of them is not lighting anymore and the amp is not working |
Answer: | Well I sold these to a friend. If I remember correctly, it does not have a keyhole on the back of the speakers. |

Question: | What are the height, width , & depth measurements for this receiver, in inches? It has to fit a certain space in my home cabinet |
Answer: | Yes it will work just fine. A mono amp would be better but this would work just fine |
Question: | Does this receiver support a, b, and a/b speaker selecting |
Answer: | There isn’t much of a difference between a marine component and a regular one except the price. They’re all good until they get wet |
Question: | Can I connect my old JBL speakers of 16 OHMS |
Answer: | Including the flange where you mount through it is 9 inches by 8 5/8 inches by 2 1/4 inches. These are exact measurements with it here in my hand. |
Question: | Does anyone know what can or can't be controled by the remote on this unit |
Answer: | Wiring issue or dead short. Check wiring for broken or corroded contacts. If they are good the fault is internal and it is toast. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Whats the minimum ohms rating |
Answer: | H-5 1/2'' W-17 1/2'' D- 13'' these are the measurements you requested, the true depth is 12 inches, I added one more inch for the plugs. Although I suggest you should always have the back exposed to open air for cooling. |
Question: | after a speaker wire arced out on lamp my HK 2600,went into protect mode then turns off.is it a cheap fix or did i fry a channel |
Answer: | Yes it does, you can turn on A only, or select B only, or select A and B together. Of course the volume level will be the same on all your speakers. This is not a problem, in my case I purchased remote volume controls, and they work just fine with the system. Just be sure to purchase a high quality volume control the transformer type. This is one component you cannot cheat out on. GOOD LUCK |
Question: | Is this model 4k blue ray compatible |
Answer: | I don't think it will hurt anything. Speaker impedance too low is bad, can damage the amp. When speaker impedance is a little high, it just means that you won't get the full rated power from the amp. But you probably don't need full rated power. In the manual, the only place speaker impedance is mentioned is where the power ratings are given. The ratings are for 6 to 8 ohms. The back panel speaker connections are marked 8 ohm. I think they are basically just trying to discourage you from using 4 ohm speakers (or lower). If you blast your speakers to the point where you actually need 85 watts per channel, you won't get it. You'll probably get max about 40 watts per channel, just wild guessing. |
Question: | Whats the minimum ohms rating |
Answer: | Dear Thomas,Thank you for your inquiry. It's a pretty broad question but I will do my very best to help you! The remote control with the HK3700 will do basic functionality such as volume, power, input select, tuner up/down. Given the network features on this receiver you would most likely benefit from the HK Remote App, which will allow you to use either the IOS or Android platforms to control all functions and streaming features. Please let me know if I can answer any additional questions!'Regards,Eric CohenWorld Wide Stereo |

User questions & answers
Question: | can I use my mobile bluetooth to connect speaker without receiver |
Answer: | 8 0hms |
Question: | Do these surround speakers come with wall mount bracket that hold speaker an inch or so away from the wall or is it flush mount |
Answer: | This happened to my receiver as well, but two years ago it was still under warranty so I contacted HK and they sent me a new one and I returned the old one. Not sure if you still have a warranty on yours but if so then take advantage of the warranty itself. Once I informed HK that my receiver was on protect mode they said ok send it back to us. It was going to cost me a lot of money to fix myself...It sounds like you might've fried a channel and then some. Hope this helps. Thanks |
Question: | Would you suggest buying better speaker wires for this system or are the wire that come with this good enough |
Answer: | Hi No, this model is not 4K compatible. |
Question: | Is this HK-HKTS 20BQ expandable to 7.1 Channels? I have a 7.1 DENON receiver |
Answer: | 8 ohms |

Question: | Will this work with HK AVR 1700-z |
Answer: | Hi. Can't answer that fully because I don't have the HK AVR 1700-z myself. I use it with a Bose radio/CD player in the aux input and it works great. Much better than a similar Belin unit I had. Hope that helps. |
Question: | can this work with Sonos Play |
Answer: | As long as the Sonos can accept audio input via an analog wired audio cable, then yes, you could stream to this BTA-10 via bluetooth and then have it pass to the Sonos (or any other audio amp/player) The BTA outputs via a 1/8" mini phone jack, so you'd need to adapt accordingly. |
Question: | Does the power adapter works with 220V |
Answer: | No ...it is a 110 only you will need an adapter. FYI this works on 60 cycle AC current |
Question: | Can it be powered via USB? (Is the power socket USB-compatible |
Answer: | Yes, we have it connected via USB. Works great!! |
