You can only unpair from the phone. Even turning the device off and back on again won't help, because it will just automatically re-pair with the last phone it was connected to. If someone else's phone was previously paired with the device, and they happen to be in the other room, you will have to go ask them in person to unpair before you'll be able to pair.
