Answer:	Not sure if it's supported, per-say, however you are able to enable bridge mode on the device's interface. This disables both wireless radios and essentially gives you a pass through network connection to whatever you connect to it.

Answer:	The xfinity wifi does not appear anymore since I switched to this modem. I also disabled the modems Wi-Fi in favor of a better Wi-Fi router.

Answer:	this modem has the flawed Intel Puma 6 chipset which causes problems with streaming video and gaming. Arris knew of this problem as far back as 2015 yet they still released this piece of junk new in 2017. Avoid at all costs if you plan to use this for gaming or video streaming, it is not reliable.

Answer:	My internet speed when Comcast provides xfi modem is >300 Mbps down (even wifi) which is what my plan is. However everytime I plug this modem and replace comcast modem - the internet wired connections throttles at a max of ~174 Mbps Wifi sucks at ~74 Mbps Upstairs ~43 Mbps Very disappointed with this product. I have spent numerous hours with comcast tech and they rewired my connections. NO LUCK !!!

Answer:	Bridging the connection is entirely dependent on your internet service provider. Some providers have a configuration file which will overwrite the bridge mode any time you reboot your modem (When your modem or gateway reaches out to their DHCP server, it locks to your modem's MAC address). You can try calling your internet service provider and ask them to release your DHCP lease, which will make the network have to relearn what MAC is associated with your account. However, it may not be permanent and will just revert to previous settings again. Question:	I have comcast triple play and plan to reduce service to comcast internet only with Ooma phone. Is this a good choice to accomplish this transition
Answer:	I also have Comcast/Xfinity Triple Play. With all of the Premium channels it cost me $159.00 per month when I add the phone and went to Triple Play 3 years ago. Late last year my monthly bill had gone up to $292.00 per month and they were talking about raising the price another $18. I dropped all of the Premium channels, turned in one of the three HD adapters and bought this MT17711 so I didn't have to rent one monthly. My bill dropped down to $191.30. This modem is excellent. It has faster Internet speeds and my devices located outside no longer drop off. I still have the X1 DVR and can live without the Premium Channels. Installation was simple and all done right online without having to call Xfinity.

Answer:	Model MG7700 should provide coverage to a large house. Unfortunately, because of so many variables involved, there isn't a way to measure the range (or speed) experience a user will have. Factors, including positioning of the Gateway, building materials, obstruction or even your neighbors WiFi usage, play a role in what will both range and speed. That said, model MG7700 is equipped with a sophisticated built in Dual Band AC 1900 WiFi router. Answer:	Motorola has a pretty decent 2 year warranty, with good phone support even through this Novel Corona-virus causing many companies to lessen customer support. This is a solid modem that saves me $185 every year with Comcast. It's interesting as I had Comcast service 12 years ago and back then one could own their own modem to save you $15, but they would charge you the same $15 for the access card a month. I went back to Comcast as Frontier is at deaths door. These days Comcast doesn't charge for the access card as the FCC put the kibosh on cable companies being in the cable rental business. At the end of the day, this Motorola's paid for itself twice over and still counting.

Given the speed of the MB8600, you should be using at least an AC1900 router and given the other devices in your network, you might be able to take advantage of a wireless speed even faster than AC1900.The Ethernet port on the MB8600 simply plugs into the WiFi router of your choice. The router should be current enough to have a Gigabit WAN port (10/100/1000 Ethernet port), since you will need that for the speeds that the MB8600 can deliver. And for now, 1 Gbps service is the fastest cable service Comcast is providing in the US. When Comcast or other cable Internet service providers begin providing service speeds over 1Gbps, the MB8600 has the bonded Ethernet ports which will allow the MB8600 to deliver speeds above 1 Gbps. Answer:	The reason for four ports on a modem requires some explanation. It is important to understand the MB8600 does not do routing. The MB8600 is a modem only. A router can be connected to any of the MB8600 GigE ports. The link between the router and the modem is then capable of using the full rate of the one Gbps service Comcast currently can provide with their new DOCSIS 3.1 service. In the future, Comcast and other cable services are expected to offer services faster than on 1 Gbps. When those faster services are offered, the additional ports in the MB8600 will be needed. Ports 1 and 2 can be bonded to allow up to 2 Gbps to be delivered by the MB8600. The other two ports on the MB8600 are there to allow additional port bonding for speeds over 2 Gbps. When Comcast has service speeds over 1 Gbps, the router connected to the MB8600 also needs to do port bonding to take advantage of the port bonding in the MB8600. Routers used by consumers today do not support port bonding. Some routers used in corporate networks do support port bonding. Answer:	DOCSIS 3.1 is here, true. And the first set of cable modems using the standard will offer some improvements. As with many technologies, they don't saturate the market overnight. In most cases the availability and maturity of a technology in the marketplace can take years - as much as 3 to 5 years. Even if 15 to 20 percent of the market goes to DOCSIS 3.1 in the first or second year, that says 80 percent hasn't. Future proofing your technology is nice, but a measure of sensibility should be used too. I went to the ARRIS SB6183 knowing that my ISP service is 200 Mbps. It allows a considerable cushion for growth. If my ISP's average speeds jumped to 500 Mbps, and I were to consider another cable modem upgrade, I would focus on a faster cable modem that uses the DOCSIS 3.1 standard or any newer and more powerful standard - allowing me to benefit from the latest standards and speeds. The DOCSIS 3.0 standard may well be nearing its End-of-Life in 2 to 3 years. Therefore, I would see no value going to a 1.4 Gbps DOCSIS 3.0 modem.

Answer:	The Cable Operators (MSOs) have complete control of what cable modem/gateway hardware they will allow installed and the firmware it uses, on their cable plant. This means anything directly connected to the cable plant (COAX) in your house. They do this to ensure that nothing happens to anyone upstream from your connections. Cable Operators follow the DOCSIS Specifications that control this methodology of firmware upgrades as well as providing security for the firmware upgrades. Cable Operators also run both the products and firmware through their own test cycles to approve any manufacturers' modems, wireless gateways, and the associated firmware updates for deployment. This is not an ARRIS only implementation, but the required implementation of any cable device manufacturer. After an MSO has tested and approved a new version of firmware for a cable device, they will then "push" that new firmware out to the devices. So upgrades to the modem firmware will be made automatically but you cannot download them to your computer and perform the upgrade yourself.

Answer:	In a house it tends to be sufficient. My security cameras run without issue 40-50 feet away. Range drops off outside the house after about 15 feet. So a 60-70 foot radius from the router, then I tend to jump to a neighbors xfinitwifi as a backup outside

Answer:	As OP said I never installed, so nothing to turn off. I started having many problems using a non standard gate way address (192.168.10.1). Router would forget WiFi password, couldn’t access the GUI there. Almost as though the firmware was becoming corrupted. I sent mine back, waiting for replacement - that’s another story.

Your Iphone XS is a 2x2 MIMO. under the most ideal conditions expect above 300 Mbps so long as the ISP service speed, modem and router/AP configuration are set up to deliver the higher speeds. The 801.11AX won't increase your hardwares maximum capable speed but it will manage the data flow better regardless if your client is wifi 6 capable or not.

Access points are far less problematic than other options such as mesh or extenders

Answer:	I just purchase NETGEAR Nighthawk AX12 12-Stream WiFi 6 Router (RAX120) - AX6000. My network is faster than when using my old AC router. The range is also much better and I have no WiFi 6 devices. So is it worth it? YES! Instead of getting around 145 mbs download speeds, I now see around 250 mbs. And I only pay for 200. Go figure.

Answer:	The sb6121 only has speeds of 172 Mbps download and up to 131 Mbps upload. This model has up to 343 Mbps download and 131 Mbps upload.
Question:	Going with the cable modem option what’s the best router to pair this with for spectrum
Answer:	It depends on your needs. Needs are based on the number of devices connected and the size of area you are trying to cover. I would highly recommend a mesh network unless your home is 1200sqft or smaller. A centrally located router could cover that. The biggest problem is getting the 5ghz frequency to reach throughout the home. The 5ghz gives you speeds over 30mbps on wireless devices. 5ghz will reach roughly 40ft in all directions from your access point (ap). A mesh system gives you multiple ap and thus more area covered by the 5ghz.
Question:	How many devices can connect at once? Is that that the 8x refers to
Answer:	The 8x doesn't refer to the number of devices you can connect to it. You only want to connect one device and that's your WiFi router. You wireless router determines how many devices can be connect based on the available number of ip addresses on the wireless device. The 8x refers to the speed of Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS). Its informing you on the speed of DOCSIS 2.0 vs the newer DOCSIS 3.0. Ultimately your speed will be determined by how much you want to pay your internet provider. And you can determine how many devices you want to connect by the router you choose.
Question:	Do I also have to buy a router for the modem? And to make sure it obviously speeds up internet connection right
Answer:	If you only need to have one computer hooked up to the internet you do not need a router. If you want to hook up more than one computer or if you want a wireless network, you will need to buy the appropriate router. My internet speed went from 20mb to 100mb(the speed I pay extra for). TWC has also stopped charging me $8.00 a month for the use of their inadequate equipment.

Question:	How difficult is the configuration process
Answer:	There wasn't much to the setup. I took the modem/router out of the box and connected it to the cable/internet wall plug. With Comcast I was able to do the setup over the internet (using my phone). It only took a few minutes over the internet versus calling Comcast.
