Answer:	Yes, this is happening increasingly. I bought about 3 months ago. The problem started maybe a couple of weeks later. Now, it’s multiple time, every day. The provider company says they can’t fix. Arris said I was only getting 1 upstream channel, instead of 3. And that was the cause of the intermittent WiFi. You can check your status by typing 192.168.100.1 in browser. Scroll down past your downstream list to see your upstream list. Each line represents a channel. An Arris rep also told me to ask for a ‘tier 1 supervisor’ at the internet provider company. Otherwise, they won’t know how to assist you. That’s where I’m at now. They’re sending a tech out to check everything. I’m just not sure they can fix my upstream problem. We shall see.
Question:	It's impossible to get a true perspective of this modem/router because the reviews and questions are for many Arris products. How is this possible
Answer:	I have Optimum as my ISP and my Arris modems have been very reliable. I had an Arris TM822A that worked perfectly since 2013. I wanted to stop leasing so I purchased the Arris SB6183 as an upgrade and it is working fine for the last 2 weeks. I would only buy one of two Arris. The SB6183 (16x4) or the SB8200 (32x8). I would not buy the Arris SB6190 /TM602/TM1672) or anything with a Puma 6 chipset. The Puma 6 chipset from Intel has a defect that firmware has still not fixed. You can google that chipset to see the issues with latency. If the Arris works with your cable company, I don't see an issue buying one of the two mentioned. BTW, the two are modems only, no router or telephone connection.

Answer:	There wasn't much to the setup. I took the modem/router out of the box and connected it to the cable/internet wall plug. With Comcast I was able to do the setup over the internet (using my phone). It only took a few minutes over the internet versus calling Comcast.

Answer:	In a house it tends to be sufficient. My security cameras run without issue 40-50 feet away. Range drops off outside the house after about 15 feet. So a 60-70 foot radius from the router, then I tend to jump to a neighbors xfinitwifi as a backup outside

Answer:	As OP said I never installed, so nothing to turn off. I started having many problems using a non standard gate way address (192.168.10.1). Router would forget WiFi password, couldn’t access the GUI there. Almost as though the firmware was becoming corrupted. I sent mine back, waiting for replacement - that’s another story.

Answer:	Not sure about the answer to your question. The MG7700 is very popular at the moment and all you can do is keep monitoring availability.

Answer:	Model MG7700 should provide coverage to a large house. Unfortunately, because of so many variables involved, there isn't a way to measure the range (or speed) experience a user will have. Factors, including positioning of the Gateway, building materials, obstruction or even your neighbors WiFi usage, play a role in what will both range and speed. That said, model MG7700 is equipped with a sophisticated built in Dual Band AC 1900 WiFi router. Support for concurrent 2.4 and 5 GHz bands with AnyBeam beamforming at those bands, focuses the signal on wireless clients to allow further improvements to wireless performance, including range. Answer:	Motorola has a pretty decent 2 year warranty, with good phone support even through this Novel Corona-virus causing many companies to lessen customer support. This is a solid modem that saves me $185 every year with Comcast. It's interesting as I had Comcast service 12 years ago and back then one could own their own modem to save you $15, but they would charge you the same $15 for the access card a month. I went back to Comcast as Frontier is at deaths door. These days Comcast doesn't charge for the access card as the FCC put the kibosh on cable companies being in the cable rental business. At the end of the day, this Motorola's paid for itself twice over and still counting.

Answer:	No, you can't personally update the firmware, apparently, the cable company gets it from Motorola, and updates it for you. I guess for compatibility or maybe some other reason.

Answer:	Yes it is! It has dual functionality. If you have a router you like already you can turn the wifi part off and just use it as a modem
Question:	This says it isn't compatible with at&t, does that mean my iphone, with an at&t connection, will not be able to use this modem
Answer:	It is not compatible with AT&T High Speed Internet service, only good with traditional Cable Service. Your iPhone will connect to the Wi-Fi without issue.
Question:	i'm using this with netgear router (with port forwarding). therefore i have to run this modem in bridge mode. would i be better with a cheaper modem
Answer:	I think you'd be better with a cheaper modem. The whole point of getting this modem is so you don't need to purchase a separate router/Wi-Fi access point.
Question:	I was reading that you cannot run the lan jack and wifi at the same time on this device, is that true? Has anyone else experienced this problem
