Answer:	The two 2 amp ports can deliver up to 2 amps. They don't just force 2 amps at whatever is plugged in. If the device only requires 500ma (.5 amps), then that's all it will draw. They just have the capability to deliver power up to 2 amps if the device will accept it. The electronics on the device determine the maximum current it can receive. Hope that helps.

Answer:	I have 4 external HDs plugged into mine. All 4 have their own power supplies. The hub has to be plugged in for it to work.

Answer:	Checked mine and there are no holes, its a clean, flat white surface. As an alternative, you can use double adhesive with hook and loop or velcro. The device is very light since its all plastic but nice plastic that does not seem brittle. This is a very good powered hub which powers my 6 external, portable drives without issues which my other powered hubs can't and have issues.
