Question:	Why is my Daughter complaining that her phone stops charging overnight
Answer:	This is an external powered USB hub with individual port power control. If you're hooked up to a computer and you power off the system at night then the USB hub is not getting an "on" signal. This is not a wall plug phone charger, it requires an input source to be active, not just external power.
Question:	Does it work if the power adapter is not plugged into the wall
Answer:	I just tested mine and it works without the AC adapter connected. I'm not sure it would handle powering 7 devices along with the charging port though.

Answer:	It depends on what type of USB port your laptop has (this dictates the maximum power transmission capacity) and how much demand you're placing on the device. If it's a bunch of small things like BT dongles and small flash USB/SD drives, it may power them all. If you use an external HDD or SSD (some are built to be that from the start, the rest can be converted to one via a USB enclosure), especially the 3.5 inch varieties which standard desktop towers use, you are far more likely to have power shortages. For example, my SSD/HDDs will beep when attached to a hub and cannot be loaded by the PC, if I use two at a time and I don't attach some sort of external power source (or I don't use one high enough). Also, bear in mind each USB port in a hub has a maximum power transmission rate. Thus, if you use a device that consumes far less power than the listed combined max rate/power jack intake for the hub, but consumes more than what an individual port of that hub can provide, it will not work properly. This shouldn't be a concern unless you use a very high-power or high-end device. For reference, an external 2.5-inch USB external hard drive uses 0.5 amperes (also listed as 500 mAh). The standard 2.0 USB A-type ports supply at least 0.5 A.

Answer:	All upper ports can be used for data and charging. The port at the front of the hub is charging only. I run my USB desk light from the front port, and works fine. The 7 upper ports I use for things like my wireless keyboard/mouse, cell phone charging/connection to laptop. It runs my external DVD drive, and works with all ports in use at once. Works with USB 3/2 with no data loss. I will purchase a new one to replace an existing hub behind my desk. Lastly, I have gone through multiple devices like this one, and they fell apart, or failed within a year. This device has exceed my expectations.

Answer:	Seller is incorrect and the description is partially misleading. The 10 port is not 60 watts and not 5 amps. It is 48 watts and 4 amps. It works well for most things but doesn't work at all with some of my HDD drives that depend solely on the USB ports for power. When I unplug the drive and plug directly into my laptop USB 3 ports, the drives work fine. All USB flash drives have worked very well. My USB powered external DVD player also won't work. I am thinking about returning the 10 port and trying the 16 port for the additional 42 watts / 3.5 amps. I run two laptops thru a KVM switch and I've had the drives working thru an old USB 2 hub but at a much lower speed. I've switched everything else off and still can't get the DVD to run on the 10 port. I bought this solely based on the 60 watt rating and the seller's comment verifying that it is 5 amps. Answer:	I just bought and tested the 10-port hub. It does NOT work **at all** without the power supply also plugged in. I'm returning it as a result, because I am using it to program super-low-power microcontrollers and don't want the hassle of having to also plug in the power supply for this purpose. Also, the power supply cable is 4 ft long, NOT The advertised 10 ft long. That makes me grumpy. I shall continue my search for a 10-port hub which does NOT require the power supply plugged in to power a single 10mA device.

Answer:	Yes I think so, I also have the same problem since Sierra on a Macbook 2015. To have enough power I used the power supply of the USB and then there is no problem. On the Macbook, the USB port is somehow powered up and down 2x on boot time, right at the beginning and then when the apple logo appears. so I usually unplug the usb c port on boot time because i feel it is bad for the external hd to be suddenly powered down after 1 second

Answer:	Standard USB ports are .500mA for USB 1 and 2, and 900mA for USB 3. 4 ports drawing power over over that total, and something goes power-hungry, if you plug this in without powering it. Basically, the preceding is how much juice it has to distribute to 4 ports on this unit. Not plugged in, it's 500mA. Plugged in, it gets .500mA from the port it is plugged into, plus the 3000mA (3A) the power supply is giving. Note that the high-power port description says "up to" 2400mA (2.4A). Why? Even plugged in, 4 items drawing .500maA (=2A) would leave only 1.5A left for this high-power 2.4A port (if these things add perfectly and are perfectly efficient) or otherwise another device is not getting some. You CAN turn off ports on this hub, of course, if you are not using what is plugged in. 4 mice? No prob. 4 HDD's? Plug it in.

Answer:	You can use all 4. However, If you need to utilize the speed of 3.0 x4 you will need that kind of throughput on the port you attach it to and this device as well (not sure of max throughput). Most USB devices don't need that kind of speed (such as web cam, keyboards, mice) For instance, if you hook up 3 external SSD drives and VR headset, you will potentially bottleneck on speed. The devices will still function, just not at 100% speed.
Question:	what's the different between the one with the external power adapter and the one without
Answer:	With my USB 3 Ports on my Acer TC-780 front panel ports, I can power all four ports with thumb drives. When I tried the same with a Dell U473D Slim Multimedia Keyboard with 2 USB Port I had to use the pawer supply that came with the HB-UMP3 4-port Powered USB hub. I would advise getting the powered hub because you don't know if your USB port will support enough devices without the power supply unit.

Answer:	@T. Freese: No. The nature of USB is that devices can not communicate among themselves. All communication goes through the host computer. So a pair of 3.0 devices sharing a hub attached to a 2.0 computer will communicate at 2.0 speeds.
Question:	Does the fact that each has a switch mean that you can just turn each of them off without doing "safely remove" or "eject" devices
Answer:	The reason that you use the Windows Option to safely remove the drive is so that windows has a chance to close any File Pointer that is in use. If this is not done, then there is a chance that the file(s) will be locked and/or corrupted the next time the drive is accessed.So. It is recommended that you safely remove the drive before you hit that power switch on the hub.I have this hub and use it to access 1 4TB drive, 2 5TB drives and 1 8TB drive. Answer:	No. When I disconnected the power cord from the hub, my wireless (battery-operated) mouse would not work, nor did my USB flash drive, even though the hub's USB connection was maintained to the laptop.

Answer:	Not as a stand-alone charger. Without the USB-B connected only one phone chargers at a time. It cycles through all 4 ports constantly connecting and disconnecting to each port one at a time. I would assume it wouldn't do this with the USB-B connected but I can't confirm that. Answer:	I have lost power, and I had no problems when the power came back. This is a great little unit.

Answer:	The product comes with a hefty 48 watt power supply. As long as that's plugged in, it SHOULD handle the power requirements of most USB devices, alleviating the drain through the laptop's USB connection.
Question:	None of my 4 "Smart charging ports" support data connection. Am I doing something wrong
Answer:	The LYFNLOVE 11-port hub won't meet your needs because only 7 of the ports support data transfer. The other 4 ports are for charging only. When you search for other hubs, make sure you identify this distinction between data transfer ports and charging-only ports. The product you need does exist, but I can't recommend any specific one. Also, for hubs with this many ports, the product should include an external power supply, so verify that. It will be important if your external hard drives are relying on power coming from the hub.
Question:	What is maximum current support for each normal USB port and smart charging port
