Question:	Why is my Daughter complaining that her phone stops charging overnight
Answer:	This is an external powered USB hub with individual port power control. If you're hooked up to a computer and you power off the system at night then the USB hub is not getting an "on" signal. This is not a wall plug phone charger, it requires an input source to be active, not just external power.
Question:	Does it work if the power adapter is not plugged into the wall
Answer:	I just tested mine and it works without the AC adapter connected. I'm not sure it would handle powering 7 devices along with the charging port though.
Question:	Can it be used only with the pc usb? or always need to be connected to the electrical outlet
Answer:	It depends on what type of USB port your laptop has (this dictates the maximum power transmission capacity) and how much demand you're placing on the device. If it's a bunch of small things like BT dongles and small flash USB/SD drives, it may power them all. If you use an external HDD or SSD (some are built to be that from the start, the rest can be converted to one via a USB enclosure), especially the 3.5 inch varieties which standard desktop towers use, you are far more likely to have power shortages. For example, my SSD/HDDs will beep when attached to a hub and cannot be loaded by the PC, if I use two at a time and I don't attach some sort of external power source (or I don't use one high enough). Also, bear in mind each USB port in a hub has a maximum power transmission rate. Thus, if you use a device that consumes far less power than the listed combined max rate/power jack intake for the hub, but consumes more than what an individual port of that hub can provide, it will not work properly. This shouldn't be a concern unless you use a very high-power or high-end device. For reference, an external 2.5-inch USB external hard drive uses 0.5 amperes (also listed as 500 mAh). The standard 2.0 USB A-type ports supply at least 0.5 A.
Question:	Can all ports be used for charging and transfer data
Answer:	All upper ports can be used for data and charging. The port at the front of the hub is charging only. I run my USB desk light from the front port, and works fine. The 7 upper ports I use for things like my wireless keyboard/mouse, cell phone charging/connection to laptop. It runs my external DVD drive, and works with all ports in use at once. Works with USB 3/2 with no data loss. I will purchase a new one to replace an existing hub behind my desk. Lastly, I have gone through multiple devices like this one, and they fell apart, or failed within a year. This device has exceed my expectations.

Answer:	I’m not measuring with a tape measure but around 2 feet. Good length and I’ve not had any problems other than 4/10 times I have to push button off and on again to get computer to recognize mouse or calculator but not bothered by it since it’s on top of desk with easy access.

Question:	Does this work with windows
Answer:	Great question, which never occurred to me until you asked: the answer is "no." The only way I can see to turn those blue lights off is to cut the fans off as well. If there is a switch somewhere, I haven't found it. There are two USB inputs on the cooling pad (not sure why), and the lights come on when I turn it on no matter which one I plug into. The USB simply works for "juice" and doesn't even register when you try to see the cooling pad through the PC's properties/management/settings/file explorer features. A light switch would be a definite asset to the pad, and this model doesn't have it.

Answer:	It says for 15.6 - 17" laptops. Not 15.6 x 17".
Question:	Can you daisy chain two of them together
Answer:	Just tested it. Previously, my 17" gaming laptop would instantly die after 20 minutes of playing X-Plane 10. I have the kick stands up on this cooler, and though I hardly have ventilation on the bottom of my laptop, the cooler kept it cool enough that I played for an hour and my laptop kept running full speed. I actually quit the game intentionally this time. Haha. Even the top of the laptop is noticeably cooler (still hot, just not scorching anymore).
Question:	How long is the cable
Answer:	The USB cord is not that great. I haven't had mine very long and I loved this cooling pad but I've since noticed that the wires are all of sudden exposed at the plug point and it no longer works because they have become disconnected. My cooling pad and laptop literally sit on a table and never move. Disappointed.

Question:	I want a hub to give 5v to my blue yeti mic., as well as to power a wd 3tb portable drive. i need powered and data ports. 3.0 is future proofing
Answer:	The IQ ports just provide power. They don't provide a data connection. So you'd need a data connection that delivered 1.3 amps. Some drives provide a "Y" cable that allows you to connection to two ports. One of them is the data connection, the other is providing just additional power. The data ports on this provide .9 amps each so you could use two of those or figure out which connection on the "Y" cable is data and which is just power and connect the one that is just power up to the IQ port. If you just have one USB connection on your cable you might need to find another hub that provides 1.3 Amps (i.e. 1300 mA) or more.
Question:	Some of the usb ports (data sync) have stopped working.Is this a common issue

Question:	Do ports 1 and 7 function only for charging? or can I connect devices like a hard drive for date transfer to the PC through ports 1 and 7 too
Answer:	My first impulse was to say "NO", but now upon further consideration of the problem I more emphatically say "NO". There's only one USB plug, so it can only go to one computer. If you jury rig some sort of male-to-male USB cable, you'd probably just end up with sparks coming out of the USB socket on one or both of your computers. But the general idea of having a switchable external disk does have merit. Plugging and unplugging cables is such a pain.

7 Ports of Connectivity

Question:	can all seven ports be used for data transfer, or are some for charging only
Answer:	Do the external drives to be connected to the hub have their own power source? If they are intended to run off of the power of the hub, you may have problems. This is my speculation based on the note under the product description stating the product should not be used with WD passport hard drives. I have several of those, each 1TB, and they run off the power of the hub. Currently, they are plugged into USB 2.0 ports, but they are USB 3.0 compatible products used as "backwards compatible," and run very slowly with USB 2.0, but they run. With USB 3.0, there is evidently a reason they are not supposed to be used. So, I would say it depends on whether the external hard drives have their own power source and, specifically, if they are WD passport drives, the product information I saw said they should not be used with this hub.

Answer:	power supply is wall to brick then brick to hub. brick is about 4 x 2 x 1.5. my brick sits on a shelf with other bricks powering my system.

Answer:	A normal USB hub will not deliver power when the computer is off or disconnected. This specific unit has one port (the "Smart Charging Port") which is designed to deliver power without a computer, but the other ports will not. Question:	How powerful is this thing? i want to put a webcam, microphone, mouse and ipod charger into this. last usb hub i bought it slowed down, will this one
Answer:	Half the time windows 10 does't recognize this USB hub, contacted the manufacture and they said to plug it into a different USB outlet, no help, so it will be up to you if you want to buy it.
Question:	How long is the power card for this hub
Answer:	The cord that came with mine is about 4 ft. long.
Question:	Will using a 7 usb 3.0 hub ultimately put next to no strain on my motherboard because power is being generated from the AC adapter
Answer:	I 5 Gigabyte Motherboard with powerful Intel processor, 16 Ram has moor paver than standard PC. I don't think the hub would help. However, some software might. I will look this up in the later date.
Question:	How long is USB3 cable
Answer:	measured mine at about 1 meter. I really like this thing. The two red high-power only ports are oriented 180 degrees from the USB 3.0 ports so you physically can't mix them up either.

Answer:	I have used up to 3 ports at the same time with no problem, don't know about all 6 at the same time. I used 2 ports all of the time for my headphones and mouse to connect to my PC and the other ports as needed.
Question:	If power is removed and the device turns off. Do all ports automatically resume working when power is restored or is manual restart required
Answer:	No,the cable can't remove.

Answer:	I cannot say for sure, however; I have 2 external drives connected to this hub used by my laptop and it works great.
