For example, the Macbook Air uses a Mini DisplyaPort(Thunderbolt) and the Ultrasharp supports DisplayPort, VGA and DVI-D, so any Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort, VGA, or DVI-D adapter will work. Question:	what other components must I purchase for this monitor
Answer:	If you do not have either a HDMI or DP port on your computer you will have to use the VGA port (pretty universal for many years) Lots of contemporary non desktop computers do NOT have a VGA port though. No HDMI cable supplied if that is the way you want to connect, and you will have to use an HDMI cord with standard size connector for the monitor and whatever size for your computer - maybe mini? - you need. DP is not universal but commonly supported, and do not buy a signal converter (expensive), buy cords, they are cheaper! Vodeo ports do NOT carry the touch info, you will need to use the supplied USB cord to transmit touch info.
Question:	Can the screens orientation be rotated 90 degrees? i.e. If I turn the monitor on its side and want to view websites and images in portrait mode
Answer:	You have the option of turning this 90 degrees if you purchase a monitor stand or arm. It has a standard VESA 100x100 mount option. This is from Dell's product page: "Ideal for multiple layouts: Adapt to different office layouts thanks to VESA-compatibility. Choose to mount your monitor to the wall or attach it to monitor arms and enjoy a more flexible workspace." Just make sure the arm you buy let's you rotate. Question:	How well does this work with a 2015 Macbook 12inch
Answer:	Yes it should work.. As my macbook pro connects from a mini display cable(thunderbolt) to hdmi. This monitor has Graphics connections of HDMI, DisplayPort and a mini display port (thunderbolt)
Question:	Is this a tn or ips panel. it doesn't say in the description
Answer:	No. And... This particular model of Dell monitor is not completely compatible with Macs. The video connection randomly drops (I had it happen every few hours). You have to turn off the monitor, disconnect the video cable from your Mac, reconnect it, then turn the monitor back on. Your desktop will change layout every time this happens. Search the web with "U2718Q and mac", and you'll find this on the Dell forums, Apple forums, and Reddit. Dell has not released an update to fix it and being as it's a year-old model it's unlikely they will. Apple's customer support will not help you, either. Other Dell 4K monitors seem to work just fine with my Macs.

Answer:	No speakers. It does have a headphone jack. So it can get audio from the display port or HDMI in and use headphones or speakers from the jack.

Answer:	If you’re setting resolution in Nvidia Control Panel you have to scroll down further. My 144Hz option is not under the HD resolutions it was under PC. So just look to see if there is another choice for the resolution that allows you to make the change.
