I have the keyboard under the stand right now and I'm typing without hitting the laptop or stand.EDIT: Just in case I misunderstood your question, my answer above was assuming you meant could the keyboard sit in front of the base, but under the overhang. IF your question was could the keyboard actually sit ON the base of the stand and completely underneath the top of the stand then I would agree with answers below that say it's technically possible but the keyboard doesn't fit under there well, you won't be able to see the keyboard and your hands will hit against the top of the stand.

Answer:	It's quite sturdy and balanced. I have a 17" MacBook on it, and have never felt any concern about anything falling over. Occasionally I'll use the laptop's keyboard directly when it's on the stand, and it doesn't bounce or shake very much at all.

Answer:	No one answered this seriously, so I'll give it a shot. Bricks will scratch the bottom of your laptop, will not draw away any heat, and will not create any cord management options, which this promises to do. Additionally, the angle of the screen created by the slant is better than what you will get with the bricks. The phone book will smother your laptop, causing it to overheat (never place your laptop on soft things, like phone books - if you're going to use a book, use old encyclopedias) because they will hold in the heat and raise the computer's temperature. Finally, 4 bricks - the number determined necessary to hold a 13-15" Macbook Pro by previous comments - weigh more and are not nearly as stylish or easy to move as this stand. However, bricks may match your decor more than this stand, and in that case, go for it.

Answer:	Unfortunately the only way to attach a standard to a ACER monitor is to buy a special bracket. The bracket attaches to the bottom of the stand and then close up behind it to provide a service to attach using your VESA mount. The problem is the brackets still extend below the monitor by about 4'since you only remove the flat portion of the stand to attach the bracket. That's 1 of the biggest problems with ACER monitors. I'm not sure why they are so resistant to making them adaptable to a VESA mount.

The pole is tall enough to hold a monitor above my laptop - but that would be if the laptop is sitting on the table. I use this to hold the laptop screen near the same height as the monitor, and high enough they are both near eye level.

Answer:	This stand can not. But there is another similar stand on Amazon that does what you want. Both arms will be on the same horizontal plane because it's one piece with the post clamp at the center point.

Answer:	I comes with two arms, and I believe the max weight is per arm.

Answer:	I have no idea - not that familiar with the metric system but it seems like 400mm is 4/10 meter and 800 is nearly a meter. Most of these things are meant to use the parts they come with. Frankensteining it with another product's parts is probably not going to work.
