Question:	can you turn the lights off
Answer:	Great question, which never occurred to me until you asked: the answer is "no." The only way I can see to turn those blue lights off is to cut the fans off as well. If there is a switch somewhere, I haven't found it. There are two USB inputs on the cooling pad (not sure why), and the lights come on when I turn it on no matter which one I plug into. The USB simply works for "juice" and doesn't even register when you try to see the cooling pad through the PC's properties/management/settings/file explorer features. A light switch would be a definite asset to the pad, and this model doesn't have it.
Question:	I have an HP envy m6 with a slight overheating issue when gaming due to a mostly powerless/tiny fan. Will this cooler help at all
Answer:	Just tested it. Previously, my 17" gaming laptop would instantly die after 20 minutes of playing X-Plane 10. I have the kick stands up on this cooler, and though I hardly have ventilation on the bottom of my laptop, the cooler kept it cool enough that I played for an hour and my laptop kept running full speed. I actually quit the game intentionally this time. Haha. Even the top of the laptop is noticeably cooler (still hot, just not scorching anymore).
Question:	Will it work for 17.3in msi gaming laptop
Answer:	Congrats on your msi gaming laptop! The physical measurement is 11" x 15". I don't know why it states 15.6" x 17". My custom Lenovo Y700 fits it exactly at 11" x 15". This unit will raise a laptop and circulate air underneath it but I would say that if you're looking for a fan to literally cool your system down for optimal performance I don't know if this is the right one for you. I've seen others on eBay with 5 fans. I am happy with this one but I'm not running my laptop for several hours while gaming. Hope this helps.
Question:	Does this come with the cord that is needed to plug into the laptop in order to use this product
Answer:	The USB cord is not that great. I haven't had mine very long and I loved this cooling pad but I've since noticed that the wires are all of sudden exposed at the plug point and it no longer works because they have become disconnected. My cooling pad and laptop literally sit on a table and never move. Disappointed.

Answer:	I have an older version of this product and have been able to use it on my lap without any serious issues. Over time the frame can become uncomfortable on the thighs but it is not slip-slidey or anything and the adjustable height is nice for different comfort positions.
Question:	why is this having 2 USB ports
Answer:	It looks like one port is to supply power to it and the second is to permit you to chain a USB device such as a mouse of a cell phone. Why did they go for the funky typeA to typeA rather than a more normal microusb? No clue, but as confusing as it is it does appear to work. To be clear, for the purpose of plugging USB devices into it, there is only ONE port, the second is to provide power to the fans.
Question:	is there a way to turn the lights off? while fans still run
Answer:	NO!! This is very misleading. There is NO WAY to turn off the FAN LEDs. Holding the + only turns off the two "decorative" blue lights down by the display, but the fan LEDs stay on.
Question:	Can it suck a golfball through a garden hose
Answer:	It depends upon the mass of the golf ball and the length and diameter of the hose. I personally conducted testing to determine whether it could in fact do so. The results were somewhat disappointing with a standard-sized garden hose (1" diameter and 50-foot length), and a PGA regulation golf ball. However, results were more favorable when using a Nerf brand golf ball, and a six-inch long stretch of 4-inch diameter PVC ventilation hose. Now, if you seriously want to know whether this device works as advertised, I would say definitely yes. I am using it 24x7 to cool a TiVo Bolt whose design makes it tend to run very hot, and it has reduced the operating temperature significantly.

Answer:	Will work on both.
Question:	Does the pad surface firmly hold the laptop in place so the laptop doesn't move around
Answer:	It isn't as 'sticky' as some other cooling pads I've had (I use mine with a MacBook) but it's acceptable. The apparent cooling capability is worth the slight loss of security in my opinion. There is one strip (approx 1 1/2" wide) of textured synthetic rubber near the bottom that helps keep things in place. I can move my laptop easily if I want to, but since it lives it's active life on my lap that isn't an issue.
Question:	Can the blue light be turned off or disconnected on the N5 model
Answer:	No you can't turn them off unless you turn off the whole pad. If you were an electronics guy you could maybe disconnect them. I find the LED's annoying so I took the pad apart and covered the 4 LED's with black electrical tape. This hides them almost completely.
Question:	Can you turn on/off led switch on n5/n7 models
Answer:	The power switch turns off the entire unit. Returning this because the leds are very bright in dark rooms.

Answer:	I have had mine since Oct 2, 2014 - I often had to check to be sure it was still working because I was not hearing it. The first of this year (2016), it did begin making loud fan noises when I started my laptop & often I would just unplug until laptop was running. But now (Jan, 2017) the noise has stopped.Other than the noise it made earlier this year, I have had no problems with it & it is still working as well as it did when I first purchased it 10/02/14. Plus I use my laptop with the fan 8 hours or longer almost every day.---Some people may get lemons but that is the case no matter what you buy. - As for me, mine is fantastic.

Answer:	It'll fit just fine if your backpack says it will fit 17" laptops. As for the fan problem it's because the fan bearings get dirty and dry, you have to blow out the fans with a can of air and then take the sticker off the back of the offending fan making noise and put a drop of 3-in-1 oil into the bearing reservoir every now and then. The cramped space makes this a bit of a PITA but it can be done.
Question:	If it fails within 1 year, where do I return it
Answer:	If it fails within 1 year, go on the Targus website and send them a message explaining what's wrong and they will replace or repair it for you, after you pay to ship it to them. It took about a month for me to get mine back from them.

Answer:	I have a 17", there is a little bit of space left, your little rubber feet would probably be within the safezone. If you're interested, it does move the air quite nicely.

Answer:	It plugs into the USB port, and once I turn my computer on, the fan comes on.

Answer:	IDK!! I have left mine plugged in on a number of occasions and have had no issues.

Answer:	I can barely here it in an office setting with some a/c noise around me. I have to check the lights to see if it is on. So it is fairly quiet in my mind.I think has only 1 setting though!
Question:	Can the blue LED lights be turned off
Answer:	If you have a few small tools and basic soldering knowledge, you can short out the LEDs and keep the fans on without them. The LED packages are on the circuit board below the fan blades which can be accessed by removing the mesh cover then unscrewing the fans. I made this mod because of a sensitivity to blue LED light in my household.

Answer:	5/8" is the size From One end to Prong, I Drilled a 3/4" Hole and it was just fin. However, if you want to be more precise, I would recommend drilling a 9/16" Hole.

Answer:	The speed of this cat8 is rated to 40gbps. A lot of room for future upgrades in network service.

Answer:	Cat 8 is real, it is recognized by TIA/EIA and is designed for data centers. That being said I highly doubt this cable is really Cat 8 considering the gauge is way too small compared to real Cat 8 that runs 22 gauge wires. not to mention that the spec for Cat 8 connectors are not these, these are Cat 7 (not recognized by TIA/EIA BTW, only by ISO/IEC) connectors. This cable seems to be a mix of Cat 6 and Cat 7 and not true Cat 8.
