Answer: I assume that you mean that the clamp adjusting handle is jammed. This tends to be an issue with F clamps when the handle is either all the way open, or closed. It is best left in the middle. Try "jiggling" it back and forth, clockwise and counter clockwise, in very small increments, being careful not to twist too far toward the jammed direction. (Depending on whether it is stuck open or closed.) A small spray of WD40 might help as well.

Question: can you turn the lights off
Answer: Great question, which never occurred to me until you asked: the answer is "no." The only way I can see to turn those blue lights off is to cut the fans off as well. If there is a switch somewhere, I haven't found it. There are two USB inputs on the cooling pad (not sure why), and the lights come on when I turn it on no matter which one I plug into. The USB simply works for "juice" and doesn't even register when you try to see the cooling pad through the PC's properties/management/settings/file explorer features. A light switch would be a definite asset to the pad, and this model doesn't have it.
Question: I have an HP envy m6 with a slight overheating issue when gaming due to a mostly powerless/tiny fan. Will this cooler help at all
Answer: Just tested it. Previously, my 17" gaming laptop would instantly die after 20 minutes of playing X-Plane 10. I have the kick stands up on this cooler, and though I hardly have ventilation on the bottom of my laptop, the cooler kept it cool enough that I played for an hour and my laptop kept running full speed. I actually quit the game intentionally this time. Haha. Even the top of the laptop is noticeably cooler (still hot, just not scorching anymore).

Answer: Congrats on your msi gaming laptop! The physical measurement is 11" x 15". I don't know why it states 15.6" x 17". My custom Lenovo Y700 fits it exactly at 11" x 15". This unit will raise a laptop and circulate air underneath it but I would say that if you're looking for a fan to literally cool your system down for optimal performance I don't know if this is the right one for you. I've seen others on eBay with 5 fans. I am happy with this one but I'm not running my laptop for several hours while gaming. Hope this helps.
Question: Does this come with the cord that is needed to plug into the laptop in order to use this product
Answer: The USB cord is not that great. I haven't had mine very long and I loved this cooling pad but I've since noticed that the wires are all of sudden exposed at the plug point and it no longer works because they have become disconnected. My cooling pad and laptop literally sit on a table and never move. Disappointed.

Question: Can it be used on a 17.3" laptop
Answer: It works really well for my predator helios 300. As long as your laptop breaths from the bottom it will work. I have found the biggest benefit is the dust filter. As this unit doesnt produce an overwhelming amount of air it just allows your normal bottom breathing cooler to finally work as intended in a dust free environment. I will warn though, once you have this base it will no longer be lap friendly. It is freaking huge. Worth it for the 15c drop.
Question: Can you turn off the LED lights
Answer: This GT300 model was engineered & designed to "suck" cool air from the rear dust filtered grill and then while your gaming laptop is sat heavily on the soft rubber seal on top, your laptop's bottom grills will suck in the GT300's cool air to cool down its heat pipes, and then exhausted at the rear of your gaming laptop. Answer: All HP "OMEN" are gaming laptops. All general gaming laptops are designed to suck cool air from the bottom and exhaust the heated air at the rear. If your laptop's air circulation "does not" function like this, then you do not have a gaming laptop and this GT300 does not benefit for you, as the pictures provided by the manufacturer/seller, ok! To answer your 2nd "very" good question there, the manufacturer do provide 2 pieces of plastic thing-ma-jig that came with an adhesive at one end so you can stick it on the "marked" spot on the GT300, so that, when your gaming laptop exhausts super OCed heated air out its rear, the GT300's cool air intake is just right below your exhaust, too, so having those 2 plastic pieces on their marked spots, the heated air can be DIVERTED upward and it won't be sucked in by the GT300's intake. Get the picture, now ^^ This GT300 laptop fan is REALLY worth every penny spent and in the end, your over-heated OCed gaming laptop will thank you many many years later ^^ TRUST ME :)

Answer: It works really well for my predator helios 300. As long as your laptop breaths from the bottom it will work. I have found the biggest benefit is the dust filter. As this unit doesnt produce an overwhelming amount of air it just allows your normal bottom breathing cooler to finally work as intended in a dust free environment. I will warn though, once you have this base it will no longer be lap friendly. It is freaking huge. Worth it for the 15c drop.
Question: Can this be used without the subwoofer
Answer: This GT300 model was engineered & designed to "suck" cool air from the rear dust filtered grill and then while your gaming laptop is sat heavily on the soft rubber seal on top, your laptop's bottom grills will suck in the GT300's cool air to cool down its heat pipes, and then exhausted at the rear of your gaming laptop. However, when it's in your hands, if you wish to MOD it to "blow" air out its rear, you are always more than welcome to experience on that idea, but do "tell" me your miraculous results, ok ;p

We haven't tested your precise configuration with our Cool turbine but as far as the exhaust vents are working on your computer, I'd rather go with a cooling pad such as our Wind or Cyclone. Ideally, when choosing your cooling pad, always try to make sure the disposition of the fans matches that of most of the underside vents available on your laptop as they are usually air intakes that are crucial to the computers heat sinking capabilities. Question: Will it automatically turn off when my computer turns off
Answer: I don’t feel that’s really relevant for its intended application, I run this thing at like 20% speed and it works perfectly and it’s quiet enough that I can’t hear it sitting 5 feet away. If I turn this up to full blast it becomes very loud and just flings dust everywhere, it doesn’t really do any better for the router.
