Answer:	No, you can not turn off the LED lighting. There are 2 LEDs per fan so 10 LEDs in all. The brightness of the LEDs adjust with the fan speed control so lower fan speed lower LED lighting. No the LEDs do not flash. With the laptop placed on top of the cooling pad you really don't notice the lights. It might bother someone else not using the laptop. I've experienced a 10 degree C lower temperature reading on my CPU and Motherboard using this cooling pad which was my reason for purchasing it.

Answer:	It is not difficult to mount. There are instructions. You will need to drill holes for the mounting bolts; and I would use split washers to prevent the nuts from coming loose. You can mount it almost any place, wood or steel. If the prep table does not have wood underneath, then you might want to put a piece of wood there to strengthen and stabilize the can opener - if the steel is not heavy enough to resist torque. The bolts would hold both in place. You will not regret purchasing this can opener. It will do a great job and likely prevent injuries of cuts from lids.
