Answer:	Look, I don't know if this is an undocumented feature or what, but I can confirm that you CAN use the UR242 without it being plugged into a computer. As long as it is turned on, you can use the UR242 as a kind of mixer, passing audio sources through to the monitors, or take advantage of the DSP effects (if you have previously configured them while the UR242 was connected to a computer). I have tried it myself, and it definitely works! I use this feature to play an outboard synthesizer through my monitors--no computer involved.

Answer:	When doing playback, make sure the record bottom is off on your DAW. Another way, if you're recording with a phantom power Mic, you just have to turn off the phantom on the Steinberg. Another way, turn down the volume of the input where your Mic is connected.
