Question:	I have a laptop that is literally 15 inches long and 10.38 inches depth (38 cm by 26.5 cm) i was wondering if i ahould get the 14inch bag since it was described as 16.4 inches tall? All that really matters to me is if it will fit the length of of my laptop
Answer:	I love this bag. I don't use it for a laptop bag though. Just a backpack. Jammed with all my stuff and zipped closed it is only 14 in tall. If the bag was empty, you may be able to get your 15 inch laptop in but with mine full and zipped closed, I stood my 15 inch laptop next to it in the bag would be too short.

Answer:	The shoulder straps are strong and not overly padded. My teenage daughter uses this for school daily. She carries he laptop, lunch and books. No complaints at all. Her friend's parents have asked where I got it to purchase for their children.

Answer:	I have a 15' Dell laptop that I fit in the bag along with my Ipad pro that is around 13-14 in together. On top of that I can fit a lot of other things in the bag at the same time.

Answer:	I bought this for my 15.6” laptop and found that it will fit in the laptop sleeve inside of the backpack but is a very snug fit. It is easier to put it in the main compartment which may have a little less padding but is easier to get it in and out. So the short answer is yes, but not really in the area it is supposed to go.

When I speak about weight, light, medium, and heavy I am talking about the material thickness, and design support: not the numeric weight. Although JanSport offers a lifetime manufacture's warranty the extra strain on this particular lightweight backpack may cause discomfort to the wearer. You may want to look at the JanSport City View or JanSport Big Student styles. These backpacks will easily handle a 14 - 15 inch laptop.

Answer:	I can't compare it, but I can say it's a 5-Star item. I'm the 'IT Committee' chairperson at the Brookfield Vol. Fire Co., in CT. We recently purchased two laptops for our line officers and the case I chose was the one in question. It's just right! Not overly large, fairly light, tough, has the right configuration and number of compartments and pockets. Basically it's clean, simple and does the job. We like them.
Question:	What are the inside measurements of this case ? I need a minimum of 16 x 11.25 inches inside the case
Answer:	Mine just arrived. The EXTERNAL dimensions are 16.25" x 11.13" x 2.5" thick. I don't know who is measuring this, but I checked carefully with two tape measures. My 16" diagonal screen Toshiba Satellite laptop which is 15" wide and 1.5 thick barely fits. It is difficult to get it in and out of the case and you need an extra hand to remove it to hold the zipper open so it will come out, otherwise it hangs up on the ends. I would say if your laptop is more than about 14.5" wide, get something else. I'm returning this one.

Answer:	I suppose it could depend on the airplane, but mine was full on a trip to Florida and back, and it fit under the seat in front of me without any problem.
Question:	Will this hold a 17.3" laptop
Answer:	This backpack DOES NOT fit the Alienware 17 R4. The Alienware 17 is bigger than most other 17 inch laptops because of the venting on the back behind the screen. This does not allow the backpack to close. If you have a 17.3 inch laptop it is kindof hit or miss on whether this backpack will hold it. If the bezel on the screen is too wide or if there is hardware behind the hinge your 17.3 inch laptop may not fit.
Question:	is the bottom of the backpack made up of some hard plastic or though material to withstand floor/ground contact and resist friction / erosion
Answer:	The back and bottom are fabric. The back plane of the backpack has a semi-rigid piece inside surrounded by soft padding and a soft breathable nylon fabric exterior along its entire length. The bottom piece is a heavy nylon fabric with some padding. There is nothing like rubber feet or plastic runners to keep ground contact to a minimum. If the bag is dragged or slid across a rough surface it will begin to show. I found this bag to be better quality than most of the bags in the school supply isle at my local department store and as good or better quality than many at the local sporting goods/ camping supply store. The quality far exceeds the price.
Question:	Is it waterproof
Answer:	Everything in my backpack stays mostly dry, but there was a bit of water in between the cover of my notebook and my papers were a bit wavy. I would treat it with a waterproof spray to be sure. It'd probably be fine in a drizzle, but if it's pouring hard I would not depend on it to keep things perfectly dry.

Question:	Are thers straps at the bottom that can hold a tent
Answer:	The interior pocket can accommodate up to a 3l bladder. But be warned, the slot is not really padded so you *will* feel the bladder against your back, and adding a full 3l bladder does take away some interior space.
Question:	Is the waist belt padded
Answer:	Not anymore. Airlines want their baggage fees and more are sticking to the 22"x14"x9" as maximum carry on. This is not even close.
Question:	Has anyone tried to use this bag as a carry on
Answer:	Your question assumes fit is about height or weight of hiker. It. is. not. A backpack has to fit the TORSO DIMENSIONS of the wearer. Almost everyone has a torso between 16 and 22 inches (measured from C7 vertebrae (bottom of neck)) to the top plane of your hips, where the belt goes. In other words you need to measure that dimension (or have someone else do it for you, it's a bit tricky to do yourself since you'd be measuring down your spine). Since this is an ADJUSTABLE pack, it will almost certainly fit you. If you watched the video, the guy showed some patches of what looked like velcro and mentioned adjustment. These allow you to adjust the pack to your torso length. (I will allow that if you've got an oversized gut, that fitting requires a lumbar support belt of sufficient size. It also may require some personalization, no two people carry their weight in exactly the same places.). A 55 L pack is sufficient for 2-3 days if you pack heavy, and maybe twice that if you pack light. There are two "sizes" for a pack. Both I've mentioned: the fit and the length of the trip. Of course, how much volume it holds is quite a different matter from how heavy a load you are willing to carry for mile after mile. I do not own one of these, but the loading looks to be good enough for a weekend hike, you may want a more comfortable pack for longer trips. HTH
Question:	Does it have a pocket for a water bladder
Answer:	Dennis, Not sure what kind of compression bag you have for your sleeping bag? But if it is of good quality and compresses it should fit. I have a long sleeping bag and it fits into the sleeping bag space. I was also able to put a fleece sweater in the sleeping bag space with my bag. I have a very compact sleeping pad it's from exped and it fits into one of the side pockets. The exped is a blow up but it's 3 inches and its small. I stole the exped pad from Serria Trading Post on clearance. Most sleeping pads probably will not fit it needs to be a blow up one and have the ability to compress very small. Hope this helps. If you need more room try the 4700 it's only 10 bucks more and it has more space. I'm thinking this is my next purchase when I decide to get another pack. Hope this helps.?

Answer:	Yeah, thicker than I imagined it to be anyways. It doesn’t sink in the way that when you wear it, the contents drop below the bottom of the bag...the whole thing is pretty sturdy. Though I use it as a diaper bag for my two boys so, perhaps someone like a student who uses it for textbooks and stuff would think different. Generally speaking though, it is more well padded than the average backpack.
