Answer:	I don't have first hand experience as I haven't checked it so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Never had a problem as a carry on. I do not think it would hold up well if regularly checked. I think it would hold up initially, and if checked sparingly, just based off the build quality. It's not bad, just not in the tier of seasoned traveler durability.

Answer:	You can not put it in the washing machine but, you can hand wash it with cold water. It is a great bag, lots of compartments and very spacious inside great for vacations and sports. Very easy to carry because it has a padded stape and a jel square that is like a gripper at the top. And there is a regular handle on the bag.
