Answer:	No. and it would have to be a small laptop. I use this as a construction job briefcase. Lots of pockets and you could fit an iPad easily if it had a good case. I have a military grade case for rough conditions. It's a great pack and it would fit a laptop but there might not be much room for anything else in main pack. I can fit my iPad. iPhone. iPod. Charging cords, etc. Wallet and checkbook. Invoice book and writing tablets. Pens. And a good bit of odds and ends in main pack. As well as the necessary flashlight and Swiss Army knife for those Mcguiver moments. Great pack but if you want something for a laptop it might not meet your needs

Answer:	The material is has a sort of vinyl/plastic feel to it, which is awesome at being waterproof and easy to clean, but not quite a material that I would trust to handle the heat of applying a patch. I'm not exactly an iron expert (Heck, I'm one who tosses my wrinkled clothes in the dryer a few minutes and presto, close to wrinkle-free. Lol!), so I can't give you a for sure answer on that. Just imagine the feel of one of those reusable, insulated lunch bags. That's the closest I can get to giving you an idea of what this backpack material feels like. I hope that helps. *If I wanted to put patches on this backpack, I would just use needle and thread and apply a few hand stitches. :)

In 1884, Karl Elsener opened his cutler’s workshop in Ibach-Schwyz. At this time Switzerland was still one of the poorer countries in Europe. In the early years, Karl Elsener worked to combat poverty and unemployment in the Schwyz basin, creating jobs and helping stem the flow of emigration.

In 1891 he supplied the soldier’s knife to the Swiss Army for the first time. He went on to develop the Swiss Officer’s and Sports Knife –now the iconic Swiss Army Knife– in 1897, creating the foundation for a flourishing company that would be able to hold its own on the world stage.

From then on, his spirit of solidarity, deep roots in the region, and a strong commitment to solid values shaped the Victorinox company philosophy.
