Answer:	I have a corsair survivor stick that went dead. I downloaded windows reinstall iso to it and when I was finished, I tried to reformate the stick. It immediately went dead. This was almost two years ago. Recently, I was determined to get it to work as I knew there was nothing wring with it. I looked up drivers and solutions but found nothing. I'm about to do another reinstall to freshen up my OS, so I installed a free program, MIni tool partition. I figured I'd try this in it. I mean, my pc couldn't even see the stick. It was invisible. The tool saw it. I right clicked and chose create. I created a partition from what had become unallocated space, gave the stick a name, changed it from FAT to NTFS, and clicked apply. Boom. The pc now saw it. I then inserted a small file in it. [autorun] icon=..\name of my icon picture.ico I also placed my pic in .ico format and had a personal icon for the 'drive'. Whole procedure took me 3 minutes. Go to redketchup'dot'io/icon-editor to upload your pic and download it in ico format. You want it to be a square pic over 300 px for best results. It really looks cool and makes it easy to identify. Type that tiny code on your notepad and save it in the root of the stick (not in a folder. Go to properties of both the file and the pic and check hidden , so you don't accidently delete them. Also, you can now say you are a code developer. 😁👌 ! I have 3 of these Samsung memory sticks. I like that they are usb-C, with an adaptor to usb A if ever needed. I also like Samsung reliability. The corsair survivor is sweet, but very pricy. Tip: Memory sticks come in FAT format so they will work on both windows and mac. Thing is, FAT is slow. Change your stick to either NTFS if you have windows, or MFS if you have a mac. This will increase the rate of file transfer by 20-30 X as fast.
