Answer:	I purchased three of these, assuming since they were 3.0, that they would function reasonably fast in a 3.0 port. Unfortunately, I found that not to be the case and, as another reviewer noted, the speed seems to be quite inconsistent. I now use them only for situations where file transfer speed is not critical.

Answer:	Bought 4 of these a few years ago. The back of the package of 2 had "Made in USA" and 2 other ones had "Made in Taiwan". The ones made in USA transferred around 57MB/s and the ones made in Taiwan transferred around 105MB/s. I lost one of them, but the other 3 are working fine transferring files between my laptop and Nvidia Shield.

Answer:	For slides an 8gb drive should be fine. You figure that an 8gb drive will hold a few high quality movies, or a few thousand high quality songs. It should hold thousands of slides even with images.

Answer:	That SanDisk Cuiser is 128GB. That's a VERY BIG STORAGE capacity. To find out how big a file you are trying to save, just click on that file to highlight it, then press COMMAND plus the letter I. It will bring up a dialog box with all the information about the file you are trying to save, especially the size. Then, as an added measure, once a certain file is Highlighted, go to VIEW, scroll down to VIEW OPTIONS and check the SIZE box. That will show you in text the size of the files on your desktop. NOW....you say you want to back-up EVERYTHING on your laptop. In that case I would recommend an EXTERNAL HARDDRIVE with at least 1TB, that's TERABITES, of storage capacity. Answer:	I agree with the first responder who said that the width of the thing on the end is an issue. It causes the drive to not want to move freely on my keychain, which causes it to occasionally poke my leg while in my pocket, or just feel a bit awkward. I never experienced this with my Kingston drive, which has a wide hole that is flat and symmetrical, allowing it to move freely and sit flat against my leg while in my pocket. I also had a hard time getting my key loop through the hole. My keychain is one of those that has a small steel wire loop with a locking mechanism. The end of the wire has a small grommet which was just a bit too large to fit through the hole of this Samsung drive. I had to drill it out a little bigger, which was very difficult to do, and scratched it up a bit. Now that it's one the key ring, it digs into my leg a bit, as I mentioned. Overall I am displeased enough with the design that I'm here looking for something else. I would have stuck with Kingston but it was so SLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW.

Answer:	In Windows, it is recognized as a removable drive, but functions as a regular hard drive would. You can even use it as a boot drive assuming your BIOS will allow you to boot from a removable USB drive.

Answer:	Works perfectly and fast. Nice even loading between 21MBPS & 31 MBPS. I t settles in evenly somewhere between these numbers and loads in almost the exact number all across the (in my case) music until they are are all loaded. In my case about 28MBPS. I use NTFS file format. Perhaps exFat may be a little faster of slower, I haven't tried it as It was fine and I didn't want to format the drive just to find out. I did a fast format at the start to leave the drive completely empty as I didn't need locked security. I am 'assuming' it works as advertised. Playback was flawless. Function fallowed fit which was just right from Rxer, to car, to PC. No sloppiness or 'collapsing' when inserting drive. I've found all Sandisk's to be well made, and most important, reliable, for years but this specific model has very little heat build up and 'all in all' is the best I've ever used so far. The exact opposite of a certain brand starting with a 'P' which runs hot and is guaranteed to eventually fail and the loss of about 5600 songs can be devastating. Getting the songs to run in the exact same order as recorded on the CD is a continuous problem and I haven't figured out yet to set that and all USB's seem to do it. I'm fairly sure there is a way but I haven't found the exact way to do this on any brand. Suggested solutions gratefully appreciated. Aside that, this is a winner and at $11.99 new, a very good deal. Answer:	No, this is a USB-A thumb drive, the larger port on all computers. Many newer better android phones have USB-C (small, oval shaped). Most still have micro-USB (small, trapezoid). The easiest way to tell the difference is if you can flip your charging cable upside down and it still plugs in then it's C, otherwise it's probably micro-usb. I would google photos of the ports to verify. Anyway, there are several thumbdrives that have USB-A on one side and USB-C or micro-USB on the other side. You could also get an OTG adapter for this thumbdrive to plug it into your phone. I'm not sure what software would transfer your photos to the thumbdrive, but I'm sure there are 1000 different options. The built in photos app lets you select days or individual photos and 'copy to folder' on an external drive. Other software might automate the process by copying them all when you plug in the drive. Personally I would recommend Android's built in backup&sync. It will upload your photos when you're on wifi. I think it's on by default, so you should go to google's photo webpage (amazon won't allow link), and log in with the same account you use on your phone and see if all your pictures have already been uploaded. If not, it shouldn't be too difficult to find instructions for turning on backup&sync for photos. On mine there's a switch in the photos app when I look in the 'Camera' album. FYI: uploading doesn't mean they're shared. Unless someone takes a great interest (time&money&hacking) they're pretty safe. Answer:	I have a corsair survivor stick that went dead. I downloaded windows reinstall iso to it and when I was finished, I tried to reformate the stick. It immediately went dead. This was almost two years ago. Recently, I was determined to get it to work as I knew there was nothing wring with it. I looked up drivers and solutions but found nothing. I'm about to do another reinstall to freshen up my OS, so I installed a free program, MIni tool partition. I figured I'd try this in it. I mean, my pc couldn't even see the stick. It was invisible. The tool saw it. I right clicked and chose create. I created a partition from what had become unallocated space, gave the stick a name, changed it from FAT to NTFS, and clicked apply. Boom. The pc now saw it. I then inserted a small file in it. [autorun] icon=..\name of my icon picture.ico I also placed my pic in .ico format and had a personal icon for the 'drive'. Whole procedure took me 3 minutes. Go to redketchup'dot'io/icon-editor to upload your pic and download it in ico format. You want it to be a square pic over 300 px for best results. It really looks cool and makes it easy to identify. Type that tiny code on your notepad and save it in the root of the stick (not in a folder. Go to properties of both the file and the pic and check hidden , so you don't accidently delete them. Also, you can now say you are a code developer. 😁👌 ! I have 3 of these Samsung memory sticks. I like that they are usb-C, with an adaptor to usb A if ever needed. I also like Samsung reliability. The corsair survivor is sweet, but very pricy. Tip: Memory sticks come in FAT format so they will work on both windows and mac. Thing is, FAT is slow. Change your stick to either NTFS if you have windows, or MFS if you have a mac. This will increase the rate of file transfer by 20-30 X as fast.

It is attached to my pocket knife and sees whatever the pocket knife is doing.. I have carried other flash drives this way for years with no problem. Other plastic ones have even gone thru the washer and dryer with no problem although I would not recommend this.
