Yes that’s what it’s for, but you need to use clean unused sensor swabs. Put two or three drops on the swab, start on the left side apply pressure as you swipe from the left to the right. Then use the other clean side of the swab to swipe the other way. This is of course after you have used a rocket blower to remove any dust or debris. If there is still dust or dirt, which is rare but can happen, you need to start over again with a new clean swab.
