Answer:	I would guess no (anything mil-spec costs a fortune) and they don't even come with any FCC certification or warning about using GMRS licensing warnings. That being said, they FEEL like a much more expensive, commercial (e.g. Motorola) radio. I used commercially licensed radios like that.. and I like this one more (more compact). See my photos of them and the metal battery mount plate. Nice little units... perfect for working with the Samcom intercoms.. and I found them to have right at a 1mile range (my house is on a hill though, so your "mileage" may vary ;).
