7 best intel raid controllers
These controllers are primarily used in servers and enterprise-grade systems where data integrity and redundancy are critical. Here are some key points about Intel RAID controllers:
Each RAID level offers a different balance of data redundancy, performance, and capacity.
In RAID 1, for example, data is mirrored on two or more drives, ensuring that if one drive fails, the data remains intact on the other(s).
RAID 0, for instance, stripes data across drives for enhanced performance but offers no redundancy.
This means that if a drive fails, it can be replaced without shutting down the server or interrupting operations.
These provide power to the controller's cache memory in case of a sudden power loss, ensuring that data in the cache is not lost and can be written to disk when power is restored.
This software provides tools for setting up arrays, performing maintenance tasks, and monitoring the health of the drives.
they may also be compatible with other systems, depending on the specific model.
Higher-end models with more advanced RAID levels and management options tend to be more expensive.
They are used to create and manage RAID arrays, enhancing data storage solutions for businesses and organizations that rely on continuous data availability.

Question: | Hi,my system are i9 10980xe mb is asud ws x299 pro/es also use asus m.2 x 16 raid card ,may i to know this key can use in my system of m.2 raid |
Answer: | it acts as a repeater and send the received ir signals to each of the transmitters. So you can use any remote (or a universal remote) to send IR signals to the receiver (line of sight), and that signal will be sent (i.e., repeated) to each of the transmitters and that will operate the device that the transmitter is next to. |
Question: | I currently have 4 intel drives in raid 0 (pass-through). i assume this key will eliminate the pass-through but does it make much of a difference |
Answer: | Don’t know the number but I’ve used the charger port on an outlet strip, a spare old Apple phone charger and a USB port on a cable at times as I reconfigured. All worked fine. |
Question: | What is the product code for this item? is this intel mm number |

For a low-cost value-added alterative to high port count RAID cards, select the Intel RAID Expander RES3FV288. As the perfect complement for Intel's SAS-3 generation RAID cards, the RES3FV288 offers ultimate flexibility for architecting a high drive count (>8 drive) storage solution in any sized system. Designed with a low profile, MD2 form factor, the RES3FV288 can be used in any server add-in card slot including a low profile slot in a 2U rack system. In cases where an add-in slot is not available, the RES3FV288 can even be mounted to a chassis wall or air-duct. The RES3FV288, powered by a high performance SAS 3.0 capable expander, enables the connection of up to 28 inside-the-box SAS or Serial ATA (SATA) devices; plus it delivers 8 external ports for connection to a JBOD. Each expander port is capable of performing SAS and SATA transfers based on the speed of the host or target at either 12Gb/s or 6Gb/s. Furthermore, 6Gb/s signals are aggregated by the expander to allow for 12Gb/s communication with RAID add-in cards capable of this higher data rate. The RES3FV288 supports management functions such as discovery and enclosure management, and can be cascaded to accommodate as many drives as the associated SAS/RAID card allows.
- Low-cost alternative to high port count RAID cards
- Inside-the-box design flexibility
- Excellent performance and data aggregation
- Compatible with Intel's current and future RAID products
User questions & answers
Question: | Does this card come with the full height bracket in the box |
Answer: | You'll have to test where each box has its IR receiver built into the unit. I tested this by holding the emitter, sticky side of emitter facing the device, and then using the remote control inches from the large receiver and pressing the power button on and off. Make sure the remote control isn't talking directly to the device. You kind of have to isolate them to make sure the signal is goning through the relay. Move the emitter around the face of the device to see where it seems to be the most effective. Once found peel the sticky off and stick it to the box. |
