Answer:	It works well for the games I play. I use it when I don't want to install a particular game on my net book (due to the size of the game software) and it seems to work well. Being a DVD writer is why I bought this unit so I could create data and movie DVD that I could use on other PC's as well as my net book. Its definitely priced right for what it does and you can't go wrong with Amazon when they can deliver it to your front door so quickly.

Answer:	USB 2.0 is the *type* of USB port. Currently we are up to USB 3.0 which is even faster. This will work in a USB 3.0 port and you don't need blazing speed to read a DVD.

Answer:	I think it would burn music to a dvd-rw disc no problem, but if it was just music, and no video, you should only need a cd-rw disc and not a dvd disc. It burns anything! Good luck!
Question:	Does it work with Windows
Answer:	Perhaps this is info is too late, but I had this LG drive for about 6 months using it with Win-7.I just upgraded to Windows 10 last week, and the drive works just fine. I didn't have to update any drivers or anything.Unless Window 10 found the drivers and installed them in the background, so I didn't notice, but the bottom line is that it works fine.

Answer:	I dont know if there is software. There was none included when I purchased it. You can enter the make and model or go to the samsung site and it should have drivers available. Answer:	It has been quite some time since I had VISTA, and if I recall correctly the Samsung TS-H653 will work with VISTA. I now use Windows 8.

Answer:	I cannot imagine any reason why this optical drive would not work with Win 10. The 16x is quite good for speed, as compared with the newest generation CD/DVD+/-RW (new gen is 24x and costs $38 new). The hardware driver in Win 10 should be compatible; if not, have Win 10 search the web for the optimal driver.
Question:	Is this gear driven or the one with rubber band type drive
Answer:	Rubber band? Are you referring as plastic rotator? If you are, then no. Gear as in wheel motion. I think you mentioned the rotator like it would be on a slim drive for laptop. Definitely using a gear wheels, but that's common nowadays for 5.25" drives for desktop PC. Only the laptop drives uses that "rubber band" motion for their motor to scan the disc. That's what we had encountered nowadays for the current drives. I think they would hardly uses that kind of motor for desktop PC drives as you mentioned earlier to others that it won't last long.

Answer:	I think so but I am not sure. I think they are all interchangeable. I put it in an old Dell desktop PC, not a MAC.

Answer:	Yes. I'm running Windows 10 and it works fine. You still need other software to watch blu ray movies though.

Answer:	I never used a cd+g disc in my DVD device, but it should be able to read the audio file.Test by loading your disc into one.

Answer:	Just make sure the numbers on your old drive are exactly the same. To remove your old drive turn your laptop over and you only have to remove one screw at the back of the drive. Then pull the drive out. The drive plugs in and unplugs by pulling it out, there are no wires or anything else that comes out of that slot. Check to see if your numbers are only SU-208 or have additional numbers. If the numbers are different, the drive may not fit perfectly and will stick out slightly from the slot but will still work. You can put your old faceplate on the new drive if it didn't come with one by just pulling gently on the faceplate, there are no screws for this step.
