Answer:	Yes, you absolutely need a GPU. Ryzen processors that do not have the letter "G" in the model number (like Ryzen 5-3200G) DO NOT have graphics built-in. Also, this CPU is a mid-level powerful one, with a lot of capability, so don't go cheap on the video card, or you will have wasted your $175 on this processor when a $115 processor would have been okay. The CPU, the GPU, the motherboard, and the DRAM modules all have to work together as a team, and if they don't have similar specifications as to throughput capability, the overall performance of the computer will suffer. The AMD website shows the memory channel speed is 3200 mhz for this CPU, so don't buy DRAM modules that are slower than 3200 mhz. Answer:	I have this exact motherboard and I have the Ryzen 5 3600 running on it smoothly. To get it to work you will first need to update your motherboard's firmware first. So you will need a 1st gen or 2nd gen Ryzen CPU to update the BIOS. Also, before you do that you also want to install the latest AMD chipset drivers before you update the firmware. So you do it in this order.... 1) Go to AMD's website. Download and install the lastest AMD chipset driver (that chipset driver works for every generation of AMD Ryzen CPUs). 2) Go to ASUS' website and download the lastest firmware. Install the firmware with your Gen 1 or Gen 2 Ryzen CPU in your motherboard. 3) Now you can put in your Ryzen 3rd gen (Zen 2) processor in your motherboard and it will work.

Answer:	The one with the cooler is the 3900x, and clocks out at 4.6 GHz. This is the 3900xt which is newer and clocks out at 4.7 GHz

Answer:	Under light loads (desktop, web browsing), 2-3 of my cores will actually hit the 4.7GHz speed on the box. One will even go as high as 4.8 on occasion. The processor typically doesn't go that high and when it does, it isn't for long. It also doesn't stay at *any* frequency for long. It will shift between sleep to base (3.8) to whatever boost (4-4.6 typically) it determines it needs to be at literally 100 times a second. When using it for medium work (e.g. gaming) where you're using one to three cores heavily, those cores will top out at about 4.5GHz, more or less. When using all the cores (encoding video), expect 4 to 4.1 GHz. This number is also dependent on cooling and available power, but once you hit that limit, the speeds will be pretty consistent.

It is very, very important to make sure that either the BIOS is updated by the manufacturer, the person you are buying it from has it updated to the latest, or that it is an X570 (since all of those series are compatible out of the box). X570 series boards are power hungry, so plan accordingly if you go the more expensive/fancy route. See if the seller (Amazon, etc) has the 3000 series listed as compatible for the board. If so, you may still need a older processor to do a BIOS update. Without an older processor on hand, I will recommend Amazon because if they list it as 3000 series ready and updated, but it arrives without those updates to the BIOS, it can be easily returned for one that is sent as advertised. It is up to the manufacturers to ship out compatible boards, not Amazon, so do a little research first to save yourself some time.

Answer:	No, no manufacturer's b450 mobo will support an AMD Ryzen 5 3000 series processor with out a bios update. You can not boot with the CPU's so you can not update bios, unless they have bios flashback and then if install fails the mobo is a brick and you may as well trash it. You would have to get AMD to send you a boot kit, which is a older model AMD CPU that the board will support as a loaner until you can update the bios, then you send the boot kit back to AMD and that takes a couple weeks. I would go with the x470 or x570 mobo because they work right out of the box and will save you a lot of headaches and time.
Question:	Will an 850W Platinum power supply work for this board
Answer:	The processor will support 4K HDR, but you will also need to make sure to choose a motherboard that supports HDMI 2 (unless you’re able to use DisplayPort) and HDR.

Answer:	no its not strong enough, they say liquid cooling is best

Answer:	This processor CAN hit its 105W TDP, but it won’t always be at that. It can be lower depending on what you are doing (gaming, productivity, workloads, rendering, editing). In simple terms , you should get a power supply with ample headroom when your chip does hit its TDP. You can always undervolt via bios to consume less power as well.

Answer:	It honestly depends on what you are going to be using your computer for. If you are like me and you need as many cores and as much memory bandwidth as possible it’s worth it. I use my computer for photometry and other data sciences where core count is really important. But for gaming IPC is much more important and most games don’t use more than 4 cores anyways. You could also wait for threadripper 3, but there is no telling how long until it comes out.

Answer:	I got 2 3400G CPUs over the summer, one for damaged in transit, the other one arrived safe and it was the 3400g. BTW: the 2400g is really not much different when it comes to raw performance, both will do similar in games and workloads for the most part.

Answer:	Probably not. The Vega 11 isn't that powerful and Destiny 2 is demanding. Also at what resolution and setting are you planning on playing Destiny 2? When the 4400G comes out it should be capable enough, but the 3400G probably cant run the game well enough to call smooth.
