That will let you hook up this unit to a Pc over USB and let you copy your iso to the Hdd that you install in the tower. This Hdd can hold your masters that you can then select to burn. Keep in mind the smart usb does Not let you burn from the Pc. It just let's you copy the iso's so you can select them from the tower as your source when duplicating.

Answer:	Hi Ricko,If the Tv has an HDMI input available you go from DVD player hdmi out to the TV using an HDMI cable if not RCA audio & video which are yellow for video Red for right side audio & white for left side audio. Look at the back of your directive box if it has an s video out use that for video to the dvd player & RCA audio cable red/white for sound. If the directive box does not have an S video out then use RCA cable.for audio & video.

Answer:	Yes, that is what I use it for exclusively. First I record a program on my dvr, then I play the DVR'd program while recording on the Toshiba. I have a component cable (3 prongs) that runs from my cable box (video, audio L and audio R out) to my Toshiba (video, audio L and audio R in). Works great. This also allows me to control when I start and stop the recording. Sometimes a movie will not last a full two hours, but will stop 10 minutes before to show "coming attractions," etc.

Answer:	If you don't have a cable or satellite receiver and are receiving your tv signals with an antenna, you either have a tv with a digital tuner or a separate digital tuner/ converter box connected to your tv. If you're using a digital converter box from your antenna to the tv, connect the outputs from the digital converter box into the inputs of Toshiba DR430 Recorder and then connect the outputs of the recorder to the TV inputs. You will be connecting from the video (yellow jack), audio (red & white jacks) to the same colored jacks in & out from the Toshiba DVD Recorder to an input on the TV. If you're not using a digital converter box already for your local stations, you will have to buy one to connect to the Toshiba Recorder to record local shows because the recorder does not have a tuner in it. You can buy them for about $30 bucks at Wal-Mart or Radio Shack. I gave you a lot of information but it's easy to setup. They can guide you at Radio Shack. I have one box hooked just this way and it works fine. Hope this was of help.

Answer:	The DVD recorder's input connections are RF (coax), composite, and S-video. S-video is analog. If you have S-video output from your computer, and separate audio to the RCA jacks, it probably would work. Haven't tried it. If you're thinking about recording protected signals (say, play a protected DVD on your computer and record on the DVD Recorder), don't expect that would work because the electronics typically disrupt those signals from being recorded.

Answer:	Hi, No, you will not be able to select a track as this is simply a duplicator that copies the whole disc when you insert the blank and original disc on the reader. There are no editing function on this unit. As others suggested here, you'll need to compile a disc first before you start copying. Thank you very much.

Answer:	No, the karaoke discs are a different format and discs. This will not read any Karaoke or CD+G discs, so it will not copy as well.

Answer:	Hi, it does burn DVD RW discs. Either + or - RW discs. Please keep in mind that the format we listed are for copying discs. The original disc still need to be formatted to be play on other DVD rom or players in order for the blank discs to be copied. Also, as mentioned by previous user, only non-copy protected discs can be inserted in the master drive to be use for duplication.
Question:	what i/o in the rear
Answer:	This is a stand alone unit. It doesn't connect to anything external. So there is no i/o in the rear. You put the original cd/dvd in the top tray, the target disk to be copied in the bottom, push them it. It does the rest. When the copy is finished, the bottom tray opens. if you are done, you can also take the disk out of the top tray and power the unit off.

Answer:	I have a five target duplicator. I have had it for three years now and have duplicated over 1,000 CDs and DVDs using it. I get mis-burns from time to time, but I use the "Check Function" so I know if I have a bad burn right away. I have found with cheap disks, I get more bad burns than when I use high quality disks. I don't think any of my bad burns have had anything to do with the unit itself. Mine came with one drive (#4) that stopped working about three months after I got it. I sent an email to support, they offered to take the whole thing back, I asked to just have a new drive sent and they agreed. I sent my bad drive, and received a replacement in a matter of days. It was a quick swap and I have no issues since.I can't tell the difference between original and duplicate. Hope that helps!

Answer:	Hi, it will burn at 8x as the writing speed is also determined by the media that you used. The maximum speed of the burner is 24x, but the media would also need to support at the highest speed of the burner to burn at the maximum speed. If the blank disc is only 4x at top burning speed, then it's going to be duplicating at 4x. This is not a hardware issue, but the blank media's issues.

Answer:	It will duplicate CD's and DVD's. This thing works great!! My wife and her friends have probably done over 200 copys of family recordings from weddings to graduations. Super simple and very quick.

Answer:	This by far has been a really good burner out if the box I did not have to add anything just put my master disk and load blanks in the other 5 drives, total 6 drives one for master and the rest for copies..... I have burned over 2000+ dvds and not a single failure...
Question:	Can this duplicator burn dual layer(8.5gb) disks
Answer:	It is suppose to be able to burn dual layer disks Todd... BUT I had a duplicator similar to this one for several years and if you are trying to duplicate a custom dual layer video you could run into an issue. When you burn a custom video (lets say a 2 hr wedding video), your computer will auto switch over to the second layer to burn... DVD's that you purchase do this too, usually during a scene change... but these DVD's are mass stamped so the switch over point is never a concern because it is always in the same place. On a dual layer duplicator the switch over point is not recorded in the same spot because the duplicator always slightly compresses the video... the problem this causes can be "skipping" of the video as it looses contact with the data that keeps the laser tracking the video during playback. Basically the duplicator will record the original "switch over spot" as a "blip" as the duplicator selects a different spot to switch over to in the process. I do not know if the technology has changed since the older duplicator I had... and I haven't tested this one yet... but the issue I think is a valid one for you to consider. If you are just duplicating data and not a dual layer video then you should have no issues what so ever.
