Answer:	Yes you should be able too. I have an old song stereo receiver and I can plug that in and have surround sound, but you would have to have it as a multichannel. Since it’s just a single headphone jack

Answer:	just as long as your speakers are powered or you might have to use a amp,, normally outputs from sources like tv will not have the power to run speakers,,,standard outputs from rca or a headphone jack will need to connect to a reciever or amp and you would connect your speakers to the amp/reciever,,ie AVR etc etc, self powered speakers will be fine for a direct connection but in general a receiver will offer better options and more devices can be added .

But you can do what you want with only one unit by using a microphone splitter to attach to the (RED) hole and connect the other end to the two microphones. Answer:	Yes they do require an amplifier as they are not powered speakers. I don't have any particular recommendations but a simple two channel amplifier would be the best solution as well as powerful enough to match the speakers.
